I purchased a 70 pint Delonghi about 6 years ago. It did not last very long, just out of warranty. During the third summer season, it continued to run but would not pull moisture. The compressor was running hot but would not cool the coils for dehumidification. The manufacturer told me either the compressor has failed or possible low on freon. Either way, it failed after about 10 actual months of summer time usage. I then bought a Danby from Home Depot, which is now discontinued, it lasted just out warranty as well.

could not get this to drain through the drain hose. it just kept running without draining anything. My son-in-law tried also and could not get it to work.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Davido Good humdifier, esp the pump feature
Have been using for about a month and all seems well. The greatest feature is the pump that works very well. We are using it in a newly purchased house where we're not there everyday, so pumping the water is really the only viable method (no floor drain available). Pumps to the washer overflow pipe about 6 ft above the floor with no problems. The only complaint is that the fan runs continuously even when the compressor is off. Since this is an Energy Star model I can assume it's still thrifty on energy use, but this can be a noise problem for some. It's in our basement so no big deal for us. If you're a Massachusetts resident, this model is listed on the MassSave site for a $30 rebate.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Larry Delonghi Dehumidifier works great but you can't get parts....
Try finding a sensor board at any price and they don't appear to be available. What good is a product that can't be fixed? Too bad as the machine works very well. On to another brand.....

Pump line keeps clogging up with slime. A real pain to disassemble and clean. Needs a bigger line or pre-pump filter acessable from outside the case

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Puddy DeLonghi 70-Pint Does the Job
I am an antiquarian book dealer, and run a pair of these to dehumidify a small warehouse (1500 SF) of old books. They replace a larger unit that that cost more than these 2 put together. Once my old workhorse quit, I bought these 2, and in a day they had reduced the humidity in the warehouse by about 20%, and have maintained the level I selected since then. They were easy to unpack and extremely simple to set up. They are direct drained to the exterior of the building, so I do not use and can't comment on the pump, or on emptying the drawer. They have been operating for about a month or so - quiet and efficient, they get the job done.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Pump never worked, worst customer service experience ever, still unresolved
Purchased this dehumidifier in May 2014 and chose this model because I needed the pump feature. As a dehumidifier it works fine however the pump has never worked. Made three calls to DeLonghi center service and the only thing they would offer if for me to return the unit for evaluation and that I would have to pay the freight cost. Tried two more calls to get a reasonble outcome, and even though I had a case number, the customer service person reasked the same stupid questions over and over, like is the dehumidfier plug into an outlet. After several calls I have still have a high price dehumidifier with no pump feature. I will never purchase a Delonghi product ever again.
