Customer Reviews

Safeheat 1500-Watt Portable Oil-Filled Radiant Portable Heater is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, efficient! So far, this oil filled heater has been a real pleasure; quiet, gradual consistent heat, and it covers two rooms well! I prefer this type over other space heaters because while its a slower emission of heat, it takes less energy and seems like a more gentle warmth than a spastic unit with red hot elements. The reason I chose this particular model was because of all its positive reviews, and I like the controls; the adjustable temperature knob allows user to adjust exactly what amount they need....other heaters have pre-set incremental settings that don't allow for an in-between setting. I'd like to come back to add to the review after couple of years for an update on its longevity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Heater Bought 2 of these units 6 years ago. One for the dog's room and the other for the downstairs living area. I know one still exists and still functions great to this day. We currently use it in winter for the living room instead of firing up the central heat. At night we put a fan by it and open up the bedrooms the house if comfy. I love the thermostat and power level controls. The mechanical is a huge help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whisper Quiet This oil-filled radiator is very nice. It has 3 strength settings and a lever to adjust how warm you want it. It takes a bit longer to warm up a room than other heaters, but it operates very quietly and produces a nice, lasting warmth. It is a bit heavy and not easy to roll around on carpet, but if you have hardwood it will be easy to move around thanks to the wheels. The only thing I wished they did better was a simpler timer based on how long you want it to run. Instead, you have to calibrate the "clock" and pull the teeth up or down to set the timer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best portable radiant heater I've had numes of cheap portable heaters but I should have bought one of these long ago. 1) NO ODOR WHATSOEVER right out of the box. And I've had heaters that started out smelling a lot and always smelled a little even after months of use. NOT THIS ONE! 2) 3 power settings. You control the temperature, you control the watts 3) Comes with a built in timer that I have yet to use, but you set it just like you set one of those timers for your lights if you are away. Yes it is spendy but you get what you pay for. I've used this for spot heating, for keeping the chill off the bedroom at night, and for heating my living room which has windows on 3 sides. VERY HAPPY with purchase. It was easy to order from Home Depot and painless to pick up, they even loaded it into a cart for me so I could bring it out to my vehicle. and no, I did not get a discount or any other benefit for writing this review - the way so many companies do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent feature - the timer Although some other heaters have timers, this one allows you to set it on and off every fifteen minutes for 24 hours. I also appreciate the casing which eliminates sharp edges. Heats up a room 12x12 from 60 degrees to about 70 in about 45 min. No heater is quieter than a radiator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Highly efficient and SILENT heater. Working well to warm a room of about 900 square feet and keep it comfortable even when on its lowest setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable and completely takes place of central air for me. I used this radiator all last fall and winter without a problem. It heats up so much that I had to turn it down and open a window in bedroom for awhile. I close off two bedrooms and 2nd bath (not used) and this little guy heats up the whole space. Keeps it around 70-72 degrees. I did want to comment on the terribly translated instructions...most probably from China. Impossible to understand and I have math and science degrees. So I just kick it to low-low whenever I leave the house. I am ASSUMING that the number one is the low setting and the arrow gets warmer as it goes counterclockwise away from "snowflake?" Also with the Polar Vortex here I have ordered these heaters for friends as early Christmas gifts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the trick! We suffer each winter with the chill in the bathroom. Basically, the house is just not well-insulated and the bathroom is on the west side of the house and takes a direct hit from incoming weather. We used a micathermic heater in the past. It served us well, but the replacement one lasted only 2 months (the first one lasted 3 years). So we pondered what kind of heater to try next. This radiator-style works great! I like the ability to set the timer and have it come on a few hours before rising, and then again, just before our evening shower. The room is toasty on a low setting and gives us room to go up when the weather turns even colder. I am hopeful it will continue to perform well.
