So far, this oil filled heater has been a real pleasure; quiet, gradual consistent heat, and it covers two rooms well! I prefer this type over other space heaters because while its a slower emission of heat, it takes less energy and seems like a more gentle warmth than a spastic unit with red hot elements. The reason I chose this particular model was because of all its positive reviews, and I like the controls; the adjustable temperature knob allows user to adjust exactly what amount they need....other heaters have pre-set incremental settings that don't allow for an in-between setting. I'd like to come back to add to the review after
couple of years for an update on its longevity.

This winter's temperatures made work in my garage art studio difficult until acquiring my new SAFEHEAT 1500-Watt Portable Radiator. Raising the studio temp to 52º made progress and completion of my latest work possible. Of further interest, my paintings are done using Home Depot materials exclusively, from structual framing, painting surface finish frame and all paints.

Last night was the first chance I've had to try this heater.Temperature got down to 54F outside. Turned this heater on low woke up this morning and it was 70 degrees in the house. Shut 2 bedroom doors of a small 3 bedroom home. The only negative thing is it gets quite hot, not good if small children around. Will be buying another.

I'm looking forward to this heater but bought off season (summer) in order to beat the rush and availability in the fall. Haven't unboxed it yet but can say it was delivered quickly and is ready to go for the first cold day of the season.

We bought this product to heat up our office in our basement. It works well but it has taken us a while to figure out how to heat up the room the best. We actually have to turn the heater on about an hour ahead of time in order for the room to be warm when we want to use it. The top and sides of the heater do get quite hot but the bottom, back and front stay cool. We have not used the timer and do not really plan on using it so I cannot comment on how that works. Overall, it has made our office a place that we can use without having to freeze and that was the point of buying it.

We suffer each winter with the chill in the bathroom. Basically, the house is just not well-insulated and the bathroom is on the west side of the house and takes a direct hit from incoming weather. We used a micathermic heater in the past. It served us well, but the replacement one lasted only 2 months (the first one lasted 3 years). So we pondered what kind of heater to try next. This radiator-style works great! I like the ability to set the timer and have it come on a few hours before rising, and then again, just before our evening shower. The room is toasty on a low setting and gives us room to go up when the weather turns even colder. I am hopeful it will continue to perform well.

I bought this heater based on all the excellent reviews, thinking I could cut my heat bills this winter. I purchased this for my great room, which is always cool but unfortunately with my cathedral ceilings all I did was heat up my loft area in my condo. I think this heater would work better in a smaller room or with a ceiling fan that would keep the warm air from rising. My current ceiling fan was broken so next year I will try with a fan. Since the heater doesn't have a fan, I never felt that I could feel the heat when I got more than 2 feet away from it.
