So far, this oil filled heater has been a real pleasure; quiet, gradual consistent heat, and it covers two rooms well! I prefer this type over other space heaters because while its a slower emission of heat, it takes less energy and seems like a more gentle warmth than a spastic unit with red hot elements. The reason I chose this particular model was because of all its positive reviews, and I like the controls; the adjustable temperature knob allows user to adjust exactly what amount they need....other heaters have pre-set incremental settings that don't allow for an in-between setting. I'd like to come back to add to the review after
couple of years for an update on its longevity.

I've had numes of cheap portable heaters but I should have bought one of these long ago.
1) NO ODOR WHATSOEVER right out of the box. And I've had heaters that started out smelling a lot and always smelled a little even after months of use. NOT THIS ONE!
2) 3 power settings. You control the temperature, you control the watts
3) Comes with a built in timer that I have yet to use, but you set it just like you set one of those timers for your lights if you are away.
Yes it is spendy but you get what you pay for. I've used this for spot heating, for keeping the chill off the bedroom at night, and for heating my living room which has windows on 3 sides. VERY HAPPY with purchase. It was easy to order from Home Depot and painless to pick up, they even loaded it into a cart for me so I could bring it out to my vehicle.
and no, I did not get a discount or any other benefit for writing this review - the way so many companies do.

This oil-filled radiator is very nice. It has 3 strength settings and a lever to adjust how warm you want it. It takes a bit longer to warm up a room than other heaters, but it operates very quietly and produces a nice, lasting warmth. It is a bit heavy and not easy to roll around on carpet, but if you have hardwood it will be easy to move around thanks to the wheels. The only thing I wished they did better was a simpler timer based on how long you want it to run. Instead, you have to calibrate the "clock" and pull the teeth up or down to set the timer.

We suffer each winter with the chill in the bathroom. Basically, the house is just not well-insulated and the bathroom is on the west side of the house and takes a direct hit from incoming weather. We used a micathermic heater in the past. It served us well, but the replacement one lasted only 2 months (the first one lasted 3 years). So we pondered what kind of heater to try next. This radiator-style works great! I like the ability to set the timer and have it come on a few hours before rising, and then again, just before our evening shower. The room is toasty on a low setting and gives us room to go up when the weather turns even colder. I am hopeful it will continue to perform well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nuschler Dependable and completely takes place of central air for me.
I used this radiator all last fall and winter without a problem. It heats up so much that I had to turn it down and open a window in bedroom for awhile.
I close off two bedrooms and 2nd bath (not used) and this little guy heats up the whole space. Keeps it around 70-72 degrees.
I did want to comment on the terribly translated instructions...most probably from China. Impossible to understand and I have math and science degrees. So I just kick it to low-low whenever I leave the house. I am ASSUMING that the number one is the low setting and the arrow gets warmer as it goes counterclockwise away from "snowflake?"
Also with the Polar Vortex here I have ordered these heaters for friends as early Christmas gifts.

I've only had it a couple of weeks so I can't say anything about sturdiness. Having had warning about the odor it creates, I was pleased that it wasn't that bad. It heats up pretty fast and the outside is not so hot as to seem dangerous. It has this ridiculously gigantic tag on the cord that warns "Do not remove this tag!" It's 8" long and looks like a freaking flag. I wouldn't give the heater 5 stars because the manual is incomprehensible and I can't figure out how to use the thermostat. It seems to claim both that number 3 is the minimum setting and the maximum setting. I'm not sure the explanation of what left, right and no lights on is correct, either. Observation has not helped, and I wouldn't even attempt the timer! So I just turn it on and off. Like that, it seems to work well.

This winter's temperatures made work in my garage art studio difficult until acquiring my new SAFEHEAT 1500-Watt Portable Radiator. Raising the studio temp to 52º made progress and completion of my latest work possible. Of further interest, my paintings are done using Home Depot materials exclusively, from structual framing, painting surface finish frame and all paints.

Bought 2 of these units 6 years ago. One for the dog's room and the other for the downstairs living area. I know one still exists and still functions great to this day. We currently use it in winter for the living room instead of firing up the central heat. At night we put a fan by it and open up the bedrooms the house if comfy. I love the thermostat and power level controls. The mechanical is a huge help.
