Durable finish in Texas sun n rain. Definitely use basic glue to
temporarily hold washers to back of baluster while
Driving screws esp. If one man job.
Some No.2 square bits fit screw heads better, some tend to strip.
Screw heads are painted to match baluster and are (best guess)

But for the paper-thin plastic washers (and the lack of any 'spare' screws and washers), the balusters are fine. Apparently, the washers are intended to protect the aluminum from the corrosive effects of treated lumber, which one would assume is most often the material against which the balusters will be placed, which begs the question why the washers aren't attached at the factory. I tried double sided tape, but settled on dabs of silicone to hold them in place, which is an imperfect solution at best. More than one fell off while the baluster was being installed, which meant another trip down the ladder to search through the dirt and debris on the ground. A few extras of both the screws and washers - together with a self-stick backing on the washers - would have been an easy and cost-effective fix. Otherwise, the product was fine.
As for the process, two boxes (out of 8) that Home Depot sent to me were clearly returned merchandise - sans screws and washers - and having to wait 2 weeks for replacement hardware was particularly disappointing. My local HD customer service manager did solve the problem and the it took to do so. My Labor Day picnic was fine and no-one fell through the gaping rail openings 10' off of the ground, but it would have been nice to have had the project completed as planned. While ordering two more boxes, removing the hardware and returning the balusters would have taken less than a week, I'd have left some other poor sap in a similar position so I took one for the team... this time. Next time, that sap is on his own.

I love my alum rails everyone rides by my house and look at them . My family and friends love them but I think they are way too expensive and I didn't have enough screws and had a hard time getting all my screws I was about sixty screws short , but other than that I love my deck

Just installed these balusters in my new deck. They look fantastic - much nicer than wood. If you're looking for a different look than your neighbor, these are the way to go. They're appropriately heavy, not hollow, and the finish is high-quality. Very easy to install & they come w/ matching black screws for a clean finish.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bimmer Great Value, badly packaged
I ordered this pack, and love that everything is designed to be outside. Matching colored screws are great. Easy to install with a great looking finish. Their shape makes them tolerable to expansion. The only thing I saw was that the company used a very thin paper to separate the ballusters from each other and some had minor scratches during the shipping. Better value for these types from anywhere I research, including the competitor hardware stores.

Placed these Balusters on my deck in 2005. Yes 10 years ago from Home Depot. (Can't believe the prices did not go up) They are in perfect shape with no degradation in the color or condition whatsoever. Just purchased 10 more boxes for a new deck arrangement. My wife is French and gave the decks that great N'awlins look.
