Answer:
The DeckoRail Round Balusters can be cut to fit your project’s needs. These balusters are best cut using a metal saw blade with carbide teeth. Each baluster is powder coated which will prevent chipping when cut.

Answer:
Yes and yes if you purchase enough packages there are a few angled extensions (10) in each box. So enough for 5 angled balusters in each box.

The connectors include screws and plastic washers to prevent the baluster from coming in direct contact with the wood. Each set comes with round washers (for use on flat sections of railing) and oblong washers (for use on stair railings). There are enough washers to do all flat or all stair railings. You are required to cut the baluster at an angle if doing stair railings. By the way, the screws that came with mine actually required a square head bit (as oppose to a Phillips bit), which was a little unusual. I happened to have a square head bit as part of a multi-bit screwdriver set so it wasn't a problem for me. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Contrasting color Easy to install at a fair price. The only drawback was the fasteners didn't match the color of the baluster. If purchasing other than black be aware of this fact the fasteners are black and contrast to the bronze. May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy installation and clean look. These balusters are simple to install and look great. Packaging didn't stand up to shipping all that well though, so make sure to order a few extra. I ended up with 7 out of 135 that had dents or scuff marks. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase The balusters were semi easy to install as long as there were two people holding the railing together. I found that while you were installing the completed unit, it was best to strap the top & bottom together. July 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice product, but installation is not very easy The speedball connectors included with this product seem like they would make installation fairly easy. However, it requires a fair amount of force to push each baluster over the speedball connector -- which becomes a substantial challenge when trying to connect the second rail since you have to simultaneously line up all balusters with speedball connectors while trying to hammer the rail with a mallet in order to get the balusters over the connectors. For a 6 foot section of railing, that is about 15 balusters at once. I was actually able to do it by myself (eventually), but it certainly wasn't easy. You are definitely better off if you can get one or two other people to help you line up the balusters as you assemble the railings. Other than that, the balusters are nice and I was pretty happy with the way the railing looked when complete. One other thing... make sure you are using very straight lumber for the top and bottom rails. If they are bowed at all the balusters will not be flush against the wood along the entire section of railing (i.e. you'll see a small gap between the baluster and the wood). June 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better alternative at a better price. I have been installing the other "DecKo******" brand for several years. I saw that HD was carrying these balusters and thought that I would give them a try. These balusters seem every bit as good at the other brand. In addition, they come with the rail connectors included in the price which makes the overall cost quite a bit lower. When installed on stairways, the balusters themselves must be miter cut and installed with the included oval shaped plastic washers. A sharp carbide blade on the miter saw handles this chore just fine. A nice feature of this is that the stair balusters will not rotate after installation. With the other brand, a special sloped rail connector is used with the square-cut baluster. As often as not, the other guy's rail connectors are not at the correct angle for the stairs and I end up adjusting the angle on a belt sander. I would rather just cut the balusters to the correct angle. It takes less time and looks better. May 15, 2010
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bronze in dark brown Although the rails with screws and attachements are nice beware of the color. These are chocolate brown not bronze. If you're looking for a contrast for your Cedar or Redwood deck these will not give you that. Stay with the basic black or be prepare to sand and repaint every baulster with an actual bronze color paint. May 30, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good product but not easy to install The product is good but after installing aluminum rods to bottom "button" , trying to install the top rail is tricky. Bottom button does not hold rod tight enough so rod stays inline. Not sure how you could improve installatiion. Once installed, rods look very good. Not unhappy with purchase August 6, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent We just installed on our new deck and has added a new look to our deck. We are very pleased and would recommend baluster to your deck October 11, 2011
