Answer:
Thank you for your interest in DeckoRail. Unfortunately, the 4 in. x 4 in. Antique Black Solar Post Cap will not fit your 4-3/8 in. round post. The actual interior measurement of the solar post cap is 3 5/8 in. x 3 5/8 in.

Hi Richard,
I'm Travis from The Home Depot. Thanks for visiting our site.
The manufacturer's instructions recommend using a waterproof construction adhesive to attach this fixture to the post.
Liquid Nails Heavy Duty or LocTite™ PL Premium 3X adhesives will get the job done.

Thank you for your inquiry. Replacement parts are not available for the 4x4 Antique Black Solar Post Cap. The LED bulbs are part of the post cap and are not designed to be replaced. The LED bulbs have an average life of 10 years, with a normal use of 6-8 hours per day. The batteries included with the post cap will eventually stop working, depending on the amount of recharge and use it gets each day. You Read More

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.5 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Bright Nice looking post cap, good quality, But not at all bright. I have them on post at the road on each side of my driveway. I think I may need to replace them with something else. October 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by West Only Make sure you install these on the western portion of your home. Mine are on the eastern side of my house with no trees or anything blocking them and they barely glow (as in you can't see them from 10 feet away). When I did my test before installing them I put them out on my back porch for the 2nd half of the day and they glowed in my kitchen all that night and part of the next day. They look very pretty and are sturdy, and I was very happy to be able to install them with a screw (after drilling my own holes). They're ok, but not worth the $25 each. December 27, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by solar Lights Instead of purchasing these at an outrageous price, I bought the set of six for 40.00. Drilled a hole in the top of each 4 x 4 I needed a light on, cut the post which came with the round solar lights to length and just stuck them in. I have the same amount of light (a glow) which still looks nice in the early evening. The only disadvantage is that it is square post to round light, but at a substantial savings. The round lights I am referring to are the ones they stick in the ground to light a driveway or sidewalk. May 24, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor lighting Poor lighting, the light stayed lite was for maybe 2 hours.Very poor lighting you could barely tell it was on. I returned the item to homedepot in Silver Spring, Maryland March 4, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Glue I liked the look of these. I bought 4 and took one out of the package and placed it near a window. It charged and had good illumination. However when I reviewed the installation there is no way to screw these to the post cap. They must be glued. That means if they fail or are damaged the only way to replace them is to cut the top of the post off. For that reason I returned them. They were a little more expensive than others I looked at but I wanted the black which is not as readily available as brushed copper or white. The quality seemed a bit better than others I looked at. The only reason I returned them was the use of glue for installation. Also there isn't enough of a lip to drill holes for screws without risking cracking the housing. The lights I replaced them with are ok, but not as well made and don't provide as much illumination as these did. So if you don't mind the glue I'ld recommend them. September 20, 2009
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Solar cap lights are not worth the money. The solar cap lights last only one summer season, that is why the warranty is only 90 days. Expensive ni-cad batteries are necessary, then when you buy replacements and install, the top unit fails to light. Bugs, nats and spiders love them as habitats. Do your research before you purchase! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I put these on our retaining wall, as a warning to friends and family, it's a 4 - 5 foot drop!. They light up just enough to do that. I was disappointed with the low light. They do look good, in daylight, as you can't see them so well at night. They are really pricey - if I still had the box, I would return them. August 25, 2009
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Post Light I am very pleased with the quality & look of the post light. The only thing I would like to see is some small screws to mount on the post instead of the glueing method the instructions said. I used double faced tape and it seems to be holding the light on the post securely. November 16, 2009
