OK, so I really like the looks of these. However, they don't seem to be very durable. I have had them on the deck posts and within 1-2 weeks they start to crack and warp and split. A few have held up well. I did not paint them or treat them. I wanted them to weather like the rest of my new deck. I am thinking of complaining to Home Depot about many of them. There are no recommendations about how to care for and install them.

I installed 4 of these wood post caps 1 month ago. Each one has cracked/split and the top has separated from the skirt leaving huge unsightly gaps. I live in NC and we have had pretty mild weather during the month of December (no extreme temps). My advice is stay away from this shabby product. All 4 are going back.

About a month ago I built a deck for a friend here in Knoxville, installed 10 of the pressure treated 6 x 6 post caps and in just a couple weeks they've completely come apart, they were shipped wet and didn't dry out until installation. I hope Depot will give a refund!

If you thought the Newbberry Classic style post cap might weather better than the already proven worthless Pyramid style post cap don't bother. ..It's much worse. Good luck getting 30 days out of this pice of Chinese manufactured excrement. The only question is why HD even stocks the product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by alivenwell Terrible product
Looks great until the first rain, then falls apart. It is made from 10 pieces of wood glued and stapled together. Every joint swelled and came apart. I returned all 6 I had bought. Look online for one-piece solid post caps for a much better product.

I purchased 12 units around 10 months ago. The warranty is for 12 months. They all fell apart, cracked and made my new deck look old.
