Loved working with this paint and my first project turned out great except for the colors. Yesteryear shows a mefium gray on the jar, but it is a very pale whitish gray. The Serene which looks mefium blue grayish on the jar came out baby blue. Shook well and used 3 coats and waxed. Still very unhappy with the colors.

This Yesteryear color chalk paint leaves a beautiful light blue-grey color. The paint was easy to apply. I used a lot of paint on the brush to eliminate a lot of back & forth strokes. I painted over a redwood cabinet and one coat covered most of the wood color. If you want an antique look, the wood can be left as is. The color might be different if you painted over a lighter color, but this seemed to cover rather well. If you clean up while the paint is wet, all you need is water and soap.

I tell everyone I come in contact with about this paint! It covers so smoothly. The color is soft and perfect. It is a great product that you can do so much with. I am finding project's just so I can use this paint! I have painted lamps, frames, stools, end and coffee tables, plastic Easter eggs, even a headboard. This paint covers beautifully on everything! I have yet to be disappointed.

I like Americana Chalky Finish paint; it dries so smooth you'd think it must have been
sprayed. I'm not fond of the wax finish coat step but found that Minwax Wipe-On Poly
works great and it's less time consuming. I reapplied Americana, let dry and it was
ready for the wipe on poly finish. The paint does adhere like crazy to wood and metal
(that's all I've done) with minimal surface prep - but, if you use a finish coat with a sheen - all the
imperfections show up. I found that light colors show less of the imperfections than
black. I painted a rusty file cabinet black and you'd be hard pressed to fine those rusty
areas on the floor edge. (no wax or poly top coat) An old chest I painted soft white with the poly finish and it feels like a sprayed on finish.

I love this paint! It took only 2 coats to for full coverage on the furniture I was painting. I did not need to sand or use a primer before. The color looks awesome.

I have used this brand of chalky finish paint before, but in a different color. I was very pleased with the results from this color as well. You'd be surprised at how far an 8 ounce jar of this will go. You just need one thin coat to make the wood grain below sort of show through. I painted a 2 person bench and a side table with this one small jar. It's fun to get a cheap or free wood item and transform it with this paint.

I am a fan of this paint, its so easy to use, thick as whipped cream, it applies so easily. I wanted a vintage look for an old beatup desk I found along the road for free, after cleaning every inch of it, I started my project(the fun part), not only does it have the look I was going for,it gave the room a sweet new look, I'm off to buy more, there must be something that needs chalky paint........
