The camera extension cord fit our Night Owl cameras perfectly, were the most reasonable value we could find and shipped to store faster than estimated! Worked perfectly.

The most commonly requested replacement part for the Defender Security System is the Camera Cable. The squirrels love to munch on them. As I bought the system at HD, I ordered the only cable offered, this one. But this is only an 'extension ' cable - which does not hook up to the camera. This should be better explained. Ultimately I had to search elsewhere for the 'fire rated camera cable' .

We needed alittle extra wire, so I ordered this. I had bought Defender cameras, so bought the Defender name brand extension wire. When hooking up an extension wire, always hook the original wire that came with the camera "to the camera". Then the extension will hook to that wire. We learned this the hard way. We have had no problems with the wire.

Works well. No difference in picture quality or signal.
FYI this model isn't the UL/FT4 Certified Extension Cable. That one is more expensive.

If you are buying a security system that comes with 60ft cables, go ahead and get a couple of these too. 60ft. is not as long as you think and the structural members in your attic will take up a lot of that 60 ft.
