I first connected all the components, setup and configured the system without running any cables just to ensure all of the components were working and to see if I liked how the system operated. Everything checked out and I found the system surprisingly simple to configure, even the remote monitoring from my iPhone. The mobile app uses a QR code from the DVR to configure the app. Wow, that made it especially simple! I ran all the cables and mounted my cameras. This is the most time consuming part of the installation. One issue that I encountered was that with cable runs longer than 65 ft (which is the length of the cables that came with the system) there is a drop in the power to the cameras. I have two runs which are right at 100 ft. For two runs I used a 135 ft extension cable (same brand as the DVR). The cameras attached to these cables were starved for power and would not go into night vision mode. The infrared LEDs would come on but the sensor within the cameras would not switch to night vision. I solved this problem by installing individual power adapters (very inexpensive) for each camera directly and using the cables for video only. This is not a problem with the system but a natural function of cable sizes and distance. My only suggestion would be for the extension cables to be a higher gauge (larger wires). Had I ben aware of this problem I would have purchased heavy duty cables that would have avoided the problem. I didn't want to ran cables again else I would have replaced them with a higher gauge cable.

Greatly enjoyed the extra security at the farm buildings. Not difficult to install, worked tight out of the box as they said. Just took me time to think of all the locations that I wanted to place the camera. Took a litle time learning how to do all the features because, well, it is working and I really do not want to change that. But there are improvements I could make once I test the different methods to recover and transfer the images.

Running the wires through the attic was the hard part, but connecting them to the DVR was easy.
The resolution is very good. I would recommend this system. There is a lot of instructions to read.

Works great and easy to setup. The instructions are a little misleading. To view cameras on phone, just go to play store and install ClearVu app. When you open the app go to device manager, for login type select "Device ID", then click on the bar code scanner next to Device ID line, the camera scanner should open so you just scan the QR sticker on the top of the DVR and it will automatically load the device ID #, leave the port to the default 9000 then enter the user name and password, default user name is admin and I think default password is 123456, click save at the top and it should connect then you can go to live view. Make sure to write down the device ID # to use when you set up to view on the computer. To view cameras on computer, don't go thru the trouble of trying to setup port forwarding. Just install NetVViewer 2.0 that came on the CD with the system. For login type choose Device ID, in the next line for Device ID just enter the # from above that you wrote down for setting up the app for your phone, then user name, password and your done. It's that easy. Just install the NetViewer software on any computer that you want to remotely view the cameras from. I copied the installation file to my Dropbox folder so I will have access to that software if I am out of town. Michel helped me set this up originally. I was trying to follow the instructions and do the port forwarding with no luck. Michel had me up and going in a couple of minutes.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bubbahack Ok camers, non existant customer service.
cameras are ok and the system over all seems to work for the most part other than the port dropping connection. I have requested assistance twice using their horrible online "customer service". I never received any sort of help so I am stuck with either and unrelighable camera system or a wired only system. In which case I paid way too much, be warned, if you just want something with no warrenty and not support this could be for you, but if you think you may at some point possibly need any customer service do not buy, they only want your money and do not care if you have a properly working system or not.

Well made. All the parts were in package. Easy to install. Must download and READ PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS. The routing of cables is easy but remember you will lose length with corners etc. Extension cables were easy to order and delivery was super fast. Good picture both night and day. going to buy another camera because the unit is so good.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shky Defender Sooo much better than Lorex
Easy setup, I have 2 systems Wired and Wireless. Both outshine Lorex.
The wireless never drops the signal unlike Lorex. My Loxex system is in the trash. Highly recommend the Defender Smart Security System
