Answer:
That I don't know. I would imagine so, because my Mac has a plugin that I believe the RCA plug from the dvr would go in.

Answer:
This system is designed for "stand alone" service (not as a PC component) and uses a monitor with RCA inputs for viewing. Defender products with recording features and multiple cameras are available for ordering at Home Depot and at Defender's own website. Defender also posts specifications for its products on their products pages.

Answer:
The Defender product page for this device indicates that the maximum card size is 32 gigabytes. I am using a 16 GB card in my system which should provide about 46 hours of continuous recording (at approx 350 minutes capacity on a 2 GB card). The cards may be over-recorded and/or saved and replaced with an empty card or the card can simply be reformatted and used for repeated recording sessions.

The included connector provides for attachment to a viewing device with RCA inputs, which may be a PC card with the appropriate ports or a TV/Monitor with RCA ports which can display PAL or NTSC signals. Defender also markets systems with video monitors (7" screen size) if you do not have an available monitor. If your question about the purchase of "more monitors" is really meant to ask if more cameras (for monitoring or surveillance) are available for purchase the answer is yes. The system I bought has only two cameras but additional cameras may be bought and installed to this receiver for a total of four cameras. If you are likely to want a system with more than two cameras then a four camera package is available at a better initial cost than the combined total of the two camera set and a later purchase of additional add-on cameras. The default setup will cause the overwriting of the oldest video with the most recent video in the case of the card having reached its full capacity. You may optionally erase the card contents if you do not wish to retain the video record or you may replace the card with a fresh (empty) card. You may also reformat a filled card, the result of which is the erasure of all data on the card for reuse. (note: erasure of a card may permit recovery of older data if the older data has not been over-written successively. Reformatting will likely result in the loss of all data with little likelihood of later recovery). Read Less

Digital Wireless 4-Channel DVR Security System with Receiver, SD Card Recording and 2 Long Range Night Vision Cameras is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Set up, Great Performance The set arrived in sturdy and compact packaging. The manual is clearly written and installation was straight-forward. The receiver will fit in a hand and function keys and ports are clearly marked. The unit lies flat and it is unobtrusive but a clear surface is needed as it does not appear to be wall mountable. The two cameras are well designed and built, install easily and they connected automatically to the receiver. The pictures are clear and bright. The night time (low light) picture is awesome. I am impressed and pleased with this system and only regret not having purchased the set which comes with four cameras.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A lot to like, a little not so good. Product shipped quickly, arrived on time. After receiving I unpackaged and read the manual, I know I must be a geek but that's what I did. Set the camera's out in the positions that I wanted and then hooked up the dvr to the television we were going to use for that purpose. Camera quality was good, could see everything needed. Very easy install on everything, in fact had everything hooked up in a matter of minutes. The only problem that I had with the system was the dvr would not record, I went back to instruction manual and redid every step again. Still would not record. At that point I called the manufacturer and went over everything with them. While on the phone with their support I went through every step again and it still would not record. They said send unit back and they would check unit and repair or replace. This is the part I have a problem with. While I understand the policy, it doesn't mean that I like it. I'm having to send back to manufacturer on my dime,, actually my $17.80 USPS Mail package. You don't return to Home Depot but the manufacturer at your expense. This is not good customer service when the buyer of a product that Home Depot sells has to pay the return postage on an item that is two weeks old and covered under warranty. It's really not even the money, it's the fact that the system is less than two weeks installed and I'm out $$ to return a warranty item. Please tell me how this makes any sense.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from defender security camera system Overall great price, but the night vision is very cloudy.Daytime is ok but the clarity in the picture just isn't there i wanted this to be a security camera for my driveway but i could not see a license plate or an occupant of a vehicle!Another problem is i mounted the cameras about30 ft away from receiver and the cameras constantly have a bad signal it says 100 feet max i guess you get what you pay for maybe better picture and reception indoors? Thanks Bill G from RI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One word, AWESOME! I bought this security camera back in early 2011, till this day no problems at all, I used it to monitor the front door and as a baby monitor, it records audio, night vision is great, I bought a 3.5" PTZ Defender camera few weeks ago. Great job Defender.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved the day! I purchase this wireless system on May 22,2013 and by the end of the week it had paid for itself.  I had installed one of the cameras to protect my laying hens from nighttime predators.  Before the week was out I had caught six racoons, one fox, one weasle and a coyote trying to kill my flock.  The alarm alerted me to the arrival of the predators,  and all I had to do was let the dogs out to run them off.   The video recorded is awesome to view, my grandkids love it.  Now all I need is an automatic dog door that I can attach to the Defender system, and I will never lose a chicken again!  I would recommend this system to all farmers who have lost sheep, calves, or chickens to predators.  It works great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product this is a good product but I wish the distance of receiving was greater. The pictures are good quality.
Date published: 2013-03-05
Rated 3 out of 5 by from ok product Thinking of returning. It stores all dates until one day it is full and it will then overwrite. I don't want to keep days on the card if there was no activity I kept yet that is what I'm forced to do. Scrolling through all dates to get to current is becoming annoying. The max time I can record after motion was detected is 30 seconds unless I do an all day manual record vs. Motion record. Can't record through a window. Still up in the air after almost a month. Quality is ok.
