Can I carry the monitor to other areas in the house or does it need to be hard wired into the wall? From the stock pictures, it looks like it is a wireless monitor.

No, only one monitor can be used per camera. Max wiring distance is 164ft, so yes you can use with a 100ft run.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Four Stars Easy to install using wires from an older existing intercom. Picture quality is excellent during the day, but a little gray at night; however, you can still see and talk with whoever is at your door. The intercom arrived on time, with easy to follow directions regarding installation. I liked the different options one can choose for the chimes. April 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy install and great video I replaced a Lloyds black and white system with this one. It was easy to install using the existing wiring, has a good picture but the audio seems to be a little weak. I found this on sale at Home Depot and saved $65 off the list price so it was a real bargain. The only real complaint that I have is that the "doorbell" is programed to ring three times instead of just once May 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by As Advertised The reason for this purchase was by the time my wife, who has trouble walking, got to the door most people did not think anyone was home or going to answer the door. I searched the web, but was looking for someone local to return the product to if there were issues. I also wanted wireless but was cost probibative for me. This product is as advertised, an easy install, color monitor with intercom. I did not use the existing door bell as I wanted to place the monitor next to my wife. She enjoys the convience of not haveing to get up to go to the door now finding no one waiting. From the comfort of her chair she can see, listen, talk to anyone at the door. I am thinking about the electric lock now so she can allow family and friends in easily. May 5, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product for the price We have a similar system where I work, which is why I decided to purchase one for my home. This product does what it says. The picture can be a little better, but all-in-all this is a great product for the price. Installation was a bit tricky, but only because i was running the wire between brick veneer and plywood, which everyone knows that there is excess cement behind the brick wall which makes it a bit harder to run a wire. Needless to say, I purchased the Klein Tools Depthfinder 50 ft. Steel Fish Tape. Despite the low reviews, I thought this would be a better product versus the nylon/fiberglass fish tapes ONLY because of the brick/cement that I had to deal with. The doorbell rings this product comes with are ok, but you would need to lower the volume just enough so that the sound is clear and doesn't have a "static" sound to it. I also LOVE the fact that it has night vision capabilities. June 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product! Buy It! Recently we had a midnight incident in my neighborhood and the Police were banging on my door in the middle of the night. I stupidly opened the door to find an officer on the other side and when I finally woke up and reallized that I had put myself in a very precarious situation I've been mad at myself every since and promised I would do something about it. Well, after alot of research I found this unit and after having it installed by an electrican found out it's the best thing around! The electrican at first suggested that I wait until I saw how the motion sensors on the lights he installed worked, but I insisted and boy am I glad that I did - It's perfect for us! It has a panoramic view - I can see down to the end of the street. It's in color and you can make adjustments, you can talk to someone without opening the door! It's worth every penny and more! Now, the electrican wants one! September 3, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great Idea-Lousy Product! Decent product design, but inadequate video performance. The camera needs bright daytime lighting for a good video picture. If positioned in a shadow, the picture is useless. Also, the doorbell/camera is large, bulky and ugly. The ringer selection is terrible. There must be a better way to make this product. Not worth the cost. I returned it to Home depot. March 20, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well Nothing fancy but it does it's job for a lot less than most such units cost. Install was fairly easy and straight forward, the instructions are decent but could use improvement, some points are not entirely clear and there's no drawings. This unit is sold by others under a different name, I bought it here for the warranty. March 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good system for the price Nice simple doorbell system with intercom and camera. Easy to install in place of existing doorbell. Night vision camera quality is very good. Simple system with one door station and one indoor station. October 8, 2013
