I DJ and run live audio at events, and got tired of using the smaller, cheaper plastic power strips that constantly cracked and broke when dropped, or stepped on, having to replace them every other gig. So I picked up one of these. Love the long power cord, nice heavy sheet metal, and takes a beating by me and everyone else, being dropped, stepped on, and keeps on goin'. Having 10 outlets is great so I only need one. Will defiantly buy more as I need them. Price is a little high for the item and the features, but HD is the only place I can find them......

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DBR2014 Great strip for the house and shop.
This is a great power strip where multiple items need to be plugged into. I use them in my shop for my battery chargers, hand held saws, drills and lamps. In the kitchen to operate mixers, electric knives, blender and other small appliances. In the bathroom for hair dryers, electric razors and other small gadgets.
It has a long 15 ft. heavy duty cord for more convenient placements .
The extended metal lip on each end allows the drilling of holes to mount on a wall or work bench.
I have 3 of these in use constantly. After about 4 to 5 years of use in my shop, I have to replace this one, because the circuit breaker will no longer reset.
I definitely recommend this power strip.

These units are well made. Durable, metal construction does not even compare to all other power strips' cheap plastic disposable design. Outlet spacing is great for wall warts. Heavy-duty lighted power switch. The metal enclosure is completely flat with flanges on the sides that you can drill holes into to mount the unit anywhere you wish. Outlets themselves are the standard size for easy direct replacement if one were to blow. I like to use these for large guitar pedalboards where different power adapters/voltages are reqiuired. Everything on or off with one switch. Very long cord. These are a big improvement in any power supply situation (home theatre, tools, rechargeable battery stations, computers, amps & pedals). I wish they were priced about $10 less.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mark saved home theater from massive surge
Yesterday I had a massive power surge at my house. The power company found that the neutral (ground) on the pole had broken. The power surge was unbelievable. My electrician believes 400-500 volts for about 1 minute or greater. I had my HG TV and home theater on this protector. It worked perfectly. Unfortunately the protector is destroyed but it sacrificed itself to save everything plugged into it. I wish I could say the same for other surge protectors I used. They are a joke. Im buying a bunch of these.

We have had 4 of these quit at work. Opening the unit up (drilling out the rivets), you'll find a 15 amp fuse in series with a 15 amp circuit breaker.
Guess which one goes first, That's right the soldered in fuse not the circuit breaker. It is wired with #14 wire so 15 amps is right at the edge of the wiring. Plus it uses the push in connection on the outlets so continous loads heat up the socket.
For light duty with a lot of light loads they are ok but for loads of 10 or more amps they are not so good.
