Light cycles on/off constantly, every 5 seconds - is there a fix for this? I've adjusted the sensitivity knobs, but that doesn't help. There's no wind, no motion, nothing that should be causing this.

I have two of these. One works perfectly, the other does what yours does. I rack it up to you get what you pay for. They're the cheapest ones sold. The one turning it's self on is installed where my nightvision camera is looking. I leave it off so it'll not waste electricity. I see over there just fine through my security system. The other spot that I'm blind to works fine. I recommend spending a few more bucks on a higher end model.

How do i bypass the motion sensor?

Asked by: cbevel
You just disconnect the red wire from the black wire inside the wiring housing. It should be a red wire that comes out of the photocell & it's factory wired to one of the lights black wires. Your black wire is your hot or power wire, therfore it powers the sensor(red wire)when connected. Pretty easy fix, but why purchase a motion activated light if your wanting to bypass? Doesn't make much sense to me... Hope this helps though

Light switch

Does the switch have to be set to ON at all times for the sensor to work or does the motion sensor lighting only trigger when I set the lights to OFF? If thats the case and lets say we want them on permanently for a while do I just turn the switch ON? Thank you.
Asked by: jmg2069
The switch will need to be on for the sensor to work.

wattage question

The box for the Defiant model 233 840 motion security light indicates that the fixture takes 2 max 120W incandescent bulbs, however, the manual says the maximum electrical load is 2 150W bulbs. Why is there a difference? And which one is it really? I checked the box and the manual and it is referring to the same model number.
Asked by: WattsTheAnswer
120V.....volts. 150watts.... 150w for each bulb is fine.

This product comes without a base. Is there a way I can mount it without the base?

Asked by: D23
I have seen these mounted directly to the siding and they seem to work ok.

Mount under soffitt and still light down the driveway.

For Defiant rep. Which Defiant model motion security light would you suggest for under soffitt and still shine down driveway. I have a hard wired box there already. (Led or flood)

Spend more money and get a better one, the motion sensor is a pain, not working well after time. I have had mine for 18 months, i use LED bulbs and it stays on most of the time, the sensitivity and time to stay on settings are useless. Dont buy this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money I have similar issues with other reviewers. The light turns on right after turning off. It does this all night long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value Basic motion fixture for LED floodlights My old 2-lamp motion-control floodlight fixture would not work with new LED floodlamps that I just purchased. This is the least expensive most basic model that I found which works with LED floodlamps! I would have preferred a white fixture...this only comes in grey. My old fixture was 3 wires - red, white, and ground...this one only has red and white. You need to drill out the particular hole pattern in the plastic base to mount this fixture.. Even though the box lists compatibility with PAR38 incandescent, halogen and CFL lamps, I successfully used it with two TCP BR30 Dimmable LED 9W floodlamps. The adjustments were very basic - duration on, and sensitivity. Installation was easy, adjustments were easy, and compatible with new LED floodlamps. Excellent value and does the job.
