Answer:
I have regular bulbs in mine and it is still working fine. Just make sure they're rated for outside if you're using them outside. Ones that aren't can shatter if they get wet when they're hot

Answer:
Halogen bulbs need special socket. That type is not good for this setup. Use regular flood lights as they will only be on when activated. I put mine in my garage, as work lights, and I think it is great for that.

Answer:
Ours work perfectly (we have 3). My boyfriend installed them, and I know they are somewhat sensitive. We even put one in our closet. I believe we bought bulbs for them -- do you still have the packaging? I don't think they were halogen, but I could be wrong. Perhaps take it back to the store and get some advice?

Answer:
this is why it is so cheap. You have an existing one to replace by this product.
But this product has a big problem: it does not function as required by this product: it keeps on cycling on and off without actually any motion occurring in front of the light, no matter what sensitivity setting you set from min to max.

The box for the Defiant model 233 840 motion security light indicates that the fixture takes 2 max 120W incandescent bulbs, however, the manual says the maximum electrical load is 2 150W bulbs. Why is there a difference? And which one is it really? I checked the box and the manual and it is referring to the same model number.

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 87 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke in 2 weeks Worked fine for 2 weeks, then started cycling on and off every 3 seconds. Will return for replacement. Super poor quality. August 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It does the job right Yes, it works just fine after a month, it was fairly easy to install, I had to upgrade the old wall mount so that took another trip to homedepot, the lights took some time to adjust because they were close to the ac coil, you know, the one with the fan... So the lights would come on when the ac turned on, because of the fan moving so it triggered the sensor. I took about one hour to install two of them, both of them work well, sometimes they will take sometime to come on so you be walking in front of the 'camera' for let's say 3 seconds and nothing, then lights! Also they are sensitive to trees moving with the wind, no big deal because is not frequent, I guess I could adjust the sensitivityness, the quality could be better but the value makes up for it. In the box is everything you need like screws and stuff, there are two wires to connect, one white one black, is easy, I hope this helps, cheers!!! August 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor sensitivity to motion I recommend paying a little more and getting a higher quality unit than this. Unit was not sensitive enough to motion, even up close. Not worth standing in line to get a refund so just going to throw it in my spare parts box. July 4, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for I purchased these lights for various locations around the exterior of my home. They're easy enough to install if your light rough-in box is the right size. We had to jury-rig it to get it to fit. There are very small screws that hold the rotation of the light in place, and one box was missing one, so we returned it. A screw fell out of one of the others, and thankfully we found it. I took it to the store to buy extras, and could NOT find them. Good luck! June 14, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Short Range It works, but with max sensitivity setting it has a range of about 12 feet. I guess the dogs won't be setting it off. June 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by motion detector light Looks and works beautifully! Love that the light goes on automatically by motion when you go by, I don't have to worry about turning on and off my porch light. Thank you! June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality at a Reasonable Price For a simple, but effective security light, these lights can't be beat for the price. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great item I am pretty handy with electrical work so I found this rather easy to install. I was also replacing this fixture with one very similar that I had installed a few years ago and quit working. But overall, great item and works how it should May 11, 2016
