Answer:
No, this light is not solar powered. It requires easy electrical installation to connect three wires. You'll also need to buy the light bulbs for it as they do not come with the light. It can't use CFL's, nor Eco-friendly bulbs. I recommend GE halogen PAR 38 bulbs.

I mounted mine on the ceiling/eave. For a moment I thought I messed up because the sensor faced the floor. Then I realized you can easily adjust the way the lights and the sensor face. My sensor faces the angle I want.

Answer:
You could, but there might be a problem getting the sensor positioned the way you want it. The sensor has many different positions, so it may work. It might take some experimenting.

Answer:
I'm guessing here based on my other security lighting: If you are talking about mounting it on the eave yes, it can be done but if the sensor has to be pointed straight down it decreases the effectiveness/range.

Too bad you can't used the EcoSmart LED bulbs that Home Depot sells because they are very energy efficient, long lasting, and don't break when you drop them.

power going to the unit. Where the black wire connects to the sensor, add regular wire like you use. (black/white/ ground) ,First, the black wire, connect to where the black power wire and the black wire to the sensor, the other to the house and to a switch. The white wire at the switch, use electrical tape and mark it also as black, and connect to other side of switch. Done that half. Back to the unit, the white wire coming from the switch, mark it also as black also. THis one will be connected to the connection of the red wires that comes from the actual light bulbs and goes to the sensor. Just remove the existing connector and add your wire and replace with a new connector cap. Presto.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price/great light Very easy to install. I am a female in my early 60's and have never installed lights before. I read the directions, got on a ladder and installed them in about 15 minutes. Worked first time. I highly recommend these lights September 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Product Looks Good But Disappointed in Quality I had a technician to install the lights. One of the two lights was defective and he had to make a second trip to the LaGrange Home Depot for a replacement. This created needless delay and extra installment time expense. This took the positive spin off the purchase and left me very disappointed. Though the product was replaced I wish there was some arrangement where Home Depot would reimburse me for the extra expenses associated with the extra time to replace the defective product and having the product installed. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Second one purchased - first one died. Had one of these, or a very similar one by the same manufacturer, and it lasted about a year before the lights failed to come on. Power was still getting to the sensor, as I could tell by the little red sensor light. Replacement with same type - so far so good, has been in about 4 weeks now. Installation was easy as I was replacing an existing fixture. No drilling, no fishing for wires. June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by don't buy this light After installation the light flashed constantly at night. I spoke with tech support and was told if there was anything else on the line like a tv or computer it would cause interference and make the light flash. No one has a separate circuit for an outside light.. This should have been stated on the box. June 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect size and price A perfect security light for my deck and driveway. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Light Light Let There Be Light. Installation was easy and well as setup. It operates as stated in add. We added LED floods instead of regular bulbs to reduce cost of electricity and they work very well with this unit. Mahalo for your interest. December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as advertised Light was easy to install. In particular had a plastic strap that held the light while being wired into the house wires. Did not need "3" hands to install. I have installed several outside motion lights and this was by far the easiest to install and set. The instructions explained each function and how to install. July 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good cheap outdoor lighting If you are on a budget or just don't feel like paying a lot of money for outdoor lighting then this is it. It's a durable and easy to install light that functions well. The motion sensor isn't the greatest but will work for what I need. The sensor does seem to be slow in detecting movement but again this is a low budget light. December 8, 2015
