Do you have to reset it everyday in order for the lights to come on? For example: if i put the pins down today for a timeframe of 5pm to 12am, do I need to reset it again tomorrow for the same timeframe?

or would it come back on by itself after i set it up the first time?

Answer:
you might need to turn the dial to adjust some pins, especially if a pin is around the time you set the dial to. make sure you set the time of the dial to the actual time so when the settings hit it works.

No you don't have to turn it off, you can turn the dial any time. I makes it a little easier to set the time if you do it on the hour.

Have tried pushing, prying, gave up on fingernails and switched to a little screwdriver - the segments refuse to move! Is there some trick to this? Nobody else has complained, so I'm probably an idiot. But also, the instructions say I may have to turn the dial clockwise in order to access the desired segments. Huh? They are all clearly visible!

The first thing I had to do was pull up on all the buttons. Then push back down the ones corresponding to the times that you want the light to come on. Hope that helps. If one is difficult to raise, rotate the dial away from the current time arrow and try again.

The pins are built into the unit; they are part of the dial. Just use your fingernail to pull up, your fingertip to push down.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great I put this timer on my attic fan, trying to vent the heat without leaving it on full time. easy to set up, no issues so far. the timer is a little on the large size, so you might have issues if you share the outlet with other devices. July 19, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simplicity at its best. I use this to turn a light on and off during the dark winter months. It is extremely easy to setup and use. I also like the fact that it has two outlets. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great item. Two 3 prong plugs needed for my grow lights I'm pleased with this item. Easy to set up. Functions well April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed! Easy to set up, works just as it is supposed to. We bought them to keep some lights cycling on and off while we were on vacation. Now we use them to turn "grow lights" on for my wife's orchid collection until it's far enough into the year where they can get natural sunlight. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best basic and dependable timer Anyone looking for a very basic (easy to operate) and dependable timer, this one for me was a perfect fit. I enjoy the modern technology of wireless controls that can be operated from your smart phone or tablet, but I purchased this small timer to replace one of the more technological devices I had attached to the Christmas tree. Once set, I didn't bother it until after the holidays to unplug and reuse for 2016. I did return to the Home Depot and purchase three additional devices to have for other projects when needed. January 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Timer This timer was bought to automate Christmas lights inside the house. It's easy to program, stays accurate, and has a three-prong receptacle. It works just fine. January 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value! Easy to install and set. Works fine, I just set and it works as advertised. January 26, 2016
