Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by All timers are not the same The Price is Right. However when I opened the instructions, it correctly stated that when the tabs are pushed down, the timer is set to go "ON". additional tabs pushed down will determine the duration of the time for the item to be kept on. "THE BIGGEST CONFUSSION IS", "When the item was purchased, all of the tabs are pushed down. They should all be pulled up before it is packaged." Or the instructions should start with a first step of "pulling all tabs up before your start." The Packager's and the writer for the instructions need to be on the same page. 2.) The arrow on the big Button in the middle of the timer should be identified and colored better. It should have a picture on the instruction paper. This would make it a lot easier for most of us. Things to remember, We live in a "PLUG AND PLAY" world. Instructions only confuse us. December 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality light timer at a very low price. Simple design, easy to use. Inexpensive mechanical light timer. Works as expected, easy to setup. There are fancy digital timers, but these old school type are cheap and reliable. July 14, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by on/off electrical timer Timer doesn't work. It was set to turn on around 8pm and turn off around midnight. The light came on at approximately the correct time but turned off after about 30 minutes. Different on/off times were tried with the same results. July 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value and it works. I bought 3 last Tuesday Sept. 30, 2014. Thought I had it figured it out, but they did not work. There are instructions enclosed, but I did not read them carefully. They have an 800 number that I called and as I was waiting I figured out that I had turn the lamp (the device) on. Aha. Ok, here are the steps: Set the proper time on the timer. First push up all the little tabs. Plug it into the outlet and keep the top button on "on", then push down the little tabs for the hours you want the lamp (or other device) to be on. Then turn on the lamp, the light of the lamp will go on. Assuming the timer is set for a different time to go on, push the top button to the right "Timer on". The light of the lamp will go off and it will come on again for the time you set it. Love it. Easy enough. Will buy another one for another device. The reason I gave it 4 stars is (actually my fault) that I had to call the 800 number. To turn on the lamp/device was also in too small letters. Can't go wrong, I am happy. October 4, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Needs instructions!! In order for it to work, one needs to know HOW to set it; instructions on how to operate are needed. I finally figured it out by reading the reviews here (tabs down for on, up for off); I was about to return them because the first night I tried it; it didn't work (I had the tabs reversed). I'll see if it works tonight but, it looks like it did since I plugged it in and the light didn't go on meaning, the timer is likely working. Would have given it a 5 review and excellent value otherwise.... December 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Instructions The instructions for this are completely incomprehensible. I was ready to return three of these and learned by reading reviews of other timers at a competitor's website that all the tabs need to be up for when the lamp is to be off and all down for the times it is to be on. I was setting one tab up for on and one up for off with all the rest down, and it didn't work. Now that I have it figured out, I may keep them if they work OK because this was the least expensive in the store. September 8, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No Instructions Mine came with no instructions whatsoever. I had to read the reviews here to even find out how it works. I will find out at 4 PM today IF it works. Flipping up the pins is difficult. Pay a bit more and get something of quality. November 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple and effective Put the timer on our in-cabinet dinning room lights to provide a warm background glow to the room. The timer is very inexpensive compared to all the other options yet does the job equally well. Takes a minute to figure out how to set the hours of on and off. The only minor thing is since it is a mechanical switch there is a distinct click when it comes on or goes off. May 14, 2015
