Based on my experience, having just purchased this device, I'm holding judgment, but just want to comment on the lack of instructions. There's not a thing on the packaging, or within, to guide a user on how to program it. Looked on the HD site, and saw that it mentioned pushing down the pins. Tried for several minutes and was afraid I might break the darned thing. Then accidentally pushed one up! That's when I realized that it comes with ALL the pins pushed down, duh! Hope this helps anyone else struggling to program it.

Pull up all the pins, they come shipped in the down position. Down means "ON"....up means "OFF.
After pulling them all up,let's say you want it on from 5:00PM till 11:00P, push DOWN ALL THE PINS BETWEEN 5 AND 11------ALL THE PINS MUST BE DOWN DURING THE PERIOD YOU WANT THE LIGHTS ON.
Will see how it really works tonight but think I got it figured out doing a web search.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Eustrezz Thank goodness for youtube videos!
I bought it yesterday to use for my food dehydrator. Couldn't find instructions so I went online and found them in the info & guides box. Couldn't understand the instructions! So I went to youtube and found demonstrations of different products with same mechanism. If it weren't for the videos I would have taken the thing back to the store and bought a digital timer instead. So far I'm pleased with the product, only had it a day. Now my food dehydrator goes off automatically thanks to the timer.
Home Depot should make their own "how to operate" videos and embed into info & guides box if they aren't going to print better instructions.

Has no instruction's, DUH. Had to open it up to see how it works. All up tab's are off tabs and all down tabs are on tabs. Really need this info on the box.
