Can someone else have a remote that could be turning them off and on in our neighborhood? Or do I have a faulty timer.

Answer:
The lights can be on during the daytime because this particular timer does what it wants to do, not what you want it to do. I returned mine after only ten days for the same reason.

Answer:
The sensor on the module has to see (be exposed to) daylight during the day in order for it to work. If the sensor is facing the ground or a wall, covered in snow, mud, leaves, or enclosed in a dark shed, the unit won't work correctly. Also, it might be 'confused' for the first 24 hours if it is plugged in (given power) after dark.

Answer:
Hello lefty,
You need to turn the dial the 6 hr mark. At dusk the light will come on, and remain on for 6 hrs. Make sure the sensor has a clear read of the light levels and it should work fine. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

Answer:
Hi Paul, this product does feature a 'weather-resistant design so that you can use it indoors or outdoors' however there is no other indication that the merchandise is "water-proof". This information is reflected in the product 'Overview' portion of the product page. Hopefully that helps! We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

Rated 2.2 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by OUTDOOR DOES NOT mean waterproof I bought 10 of these for architectural lighting on my building. After the first rain storm only 2 are now working out of the ten. After examining them, I found that they were so full of water. I had to shake them repeatedly to get the water out. Of course they don't work now. I have them hanging in front of fan trying to dry them out. Doubt very much they will ever work again. A shame since they worked great the first few nights without issues. They are not for outdoor unless you wrap them in plastic. June 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money I bought almost half of dozen of these timers, some of them stop working a month after and others few weeks later. If I have a spare room to store all the packaging of the things I buy I will returning them but unfortunately I don't. June 14, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by conked out after 9 mo This has great features in terms of duration after dusk, but has no remote. I had to return mine to HD after 9 mo because the photocell became corroded, presumably from all the rain hitting it, and it would stay on all the time thinking it was dark. HD exchanged it for me. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Waste Your Money I purchased this timer ten days ago. Today my lights were on during daylight hours. An hour later, one outlet stopped working but the other one was working. A few minutes later the other outlet stopped working. Appx 30 minutes later both sets of lights came back on but then went off. I'm returning it tomorrow. I'll let Home Depot deal with it. December 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible This does not work night to night, also comes with absolutely no instructions even if you needed them! December 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great! Bought this item to use for all of my outdoor Christmas lights in my front yard. Nice backlit display! It turns on at dusk & you can set it for 2hrs, 4hrs, 8hrs or all night till dawn. Great product for $10! December 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not any good Features good for what I wanted. Used on Christmas lights string 24 lights. Worked on first unit I bought for four (4) nights. Bought a second one, to worked as expected for 2 hours after dark, went off and would nor work any more. I would be willing to pay more for one if it would work. Both units would get hot to the touch when plugged in and no lights burning. September 13, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Label peels off after a few months This is my second timer that has not withstood the mild San Diego weather. It works just fine, but the label that shows how many hours to set it to has both times peeled off. Maybe they should invest in a better adhesive! June 22, 2015
