Answer:
Start by pulling up the small tabs that go all the way around the outside edge of the wheel. Now. push down the tabs from the time you want the it on all the way to the time you want it off. Now rotate the dial until the arrow in the middle is pointing to the time of day in your area. You are done.

Answer:
Are you setting it correctly? The tabs should be DOWN from the 5 in the light area, going to the left, to the 3 in the dark area. Remember up is off and down is on. Then you must rotate the dial until the arrow in the center is pointing at the time it is right now.

this is the second one i have bought with the same problem, so i think i must be doing something wrong. i am trying to have the timer go on and off every thirty minutes. meaning off for30 and on for 30, all day and night. i understand about how to set the tabs, i have every other tab up. my issue is that timer never moves. if i set the time at 3:00, and have it on, it stays on, it never clicks over. it will still be 3:00 hours later. wherever i set the time, it stays there forever. what am i doing wrong?

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outdoor timer with 2 grounded outlets Works great, used for greenhouse heating. Excellent housing. January 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not a good product This is an outdoor unit, 15 amp. Sleek design but poor quality. Used for a period of 3 weeks, at this point the timer was falling behind. Also, the area set to power the unit was not making the necessary contact. Don't waste your time or money. This unit is going back to the store to buy a better product. December 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Buying a second one I would agree with previous review(s) that instructions were confusing. I will take it a step further and say the instructions are useless. However, once you figure out that you just need to lift two slots, that is pretty much it: 1. Set the dial to the current time. 2. Find the time slot you wish to use as your starting time. Stick your finger nail or something small and thin under the time slot you wish to use for " start" time and lift it up. 3. Do the same for the stopping time. 4. plug the device in I would recommend first setting it for two times in a short range so that you can go check on it and make sure it is working. Then, reset the pins to your desired times. May 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible set-up instructions. Terrible set-up instructions. I'm not sure how it works since I can't even figure out how to set it up. Lift up what? Use a pen or pencil where?? May 1, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't keep good time It doesn't keep good time at all. It loses about an hour a day, because of this very unreliable to run on a set schedule. I exchanged for a new one and same issue. December 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use; good price I was hesitant to buy this based on reviews of a different timer by the same manufacturer saying that model (not this one) was hard to set up and instructions were bad. But this was super simple to set up (takes about a minute) and is working well so far. I needed an outdoor timer for a fountain and didn't want to spend a ton of money. July 15, 2014
