Rated 2.0 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This Light is Blind. After installing this very bright light, which I chose for its good looks, I discovered it is virtually blind. Regardless of how you adjust the range, this light couldn't even see movement PARALLEL TO the mounting wall (the easiest type of movement for the sensor to see) at 15 feet. If you walked perpendicular, that is, directly up to the light, sensitivity shrank to 12 feet. This was when set on maximum sensitivity. Set it to low sensitivity and the range shrank further to 9 feet, within range of smacking it with a baseball bat, which is more than it deserves. Returned the next day. January 9, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Motion Detector I had to modify a standard mounting box to get this to fit. Then, after it was installed the motion detector would not work. Yes, the test switch turned the light on; it has a nice bright bulb and looks nice. Unfortunately, the motion detector is really bad. I'm returning it now (sad because it was on sale for $12.95 - - I guess you get what you pay for). May 26, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good and bad Light itself is good however bulb only lasted a couple of weeks. This is on a motion detector in a rarely used location so probably less than 1 hour total of "on" time. Very unhappy about that. When I spend my money I want a quality product - not some garbage that only lasts a short time. Also very bad gasket design - takes more time fiddling with that when replacing bulb than anything else. April 30, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very unreliable light, have had two fail in last 3 years First light lasted 10 months, replaced by HD, second lasted about two years and stopped working, checked bulb and power it just doesn't come on at night-buy a better unit perhaps at lighting store. February 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Should come with a warning This product should come with a warning that it must be installed on a vertical wall and not under an overhanging soffit. You can't get the sensor head far enough away from the halogen light to get it to turn off. If I hadn't already thrown the box away I would have returned it. July 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Bright Light Installed this light on the front of my backyard garage to assist in keeping the local kids out of my backyard. The light was easy to install and has a very nice look to it. The sensor seems to pick up motion at about 50' fairly consistently. Halogen bulbs are a little touchy to install, "dont touch the lamp with your bare fingers". This light seems to work as described. November 13, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Product used to be excellent but now? I bought one of these lights about 15 years ago. The only thing I had to change was a bulb every 4 or 5 years. Last week, the light didn't work, so I bought a new bulb, it worked for one night only. I took the bulb back to Home Depot and bought a new one. Same thing; it lasted one night. I bought a new fixture; it is exactly the same as my old one. I put it together, but found the bulb that came in the box was broken. As I had my other bulb, I tried it and it worked. However, over two days, unlike my old light, the sensor would only come on when I was near it, no matter where and how I pointed it. I took it back to Home Depot today, and as always, they have a great return policy, and I bought another. The same thing is happening. I have to get close to the sensor to make it come on. My old light came on when I was at the top of the driveway, which was great. According to the instruction booklet, one has to call a Home Depot number for support. There is a number for missing parts. I will call tomorrow and if I don't get satisfaction, I'll remove the sensor and replace it with the old one, which I still have. This was a great security light; I don't know what happened to the sensor. October 21, 2013
