Answer:
just run the light wire from the solar panel to the light. Problem is one has to drill holes for the panel and the light.... then one has to remove the piece of junk and you have holes where the brackets wer.

Answer:
No hardwiring is required for installation of this unit. There is a power connection that comes with the solar panel and connects to the light unit.

Rated 2.4 out of 5 by 31 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by junk.. run from it bought the first one.. the motion detector quit working after a week. I exchanged it for a new one at HD ... it lasted about 4 days... same issue. Plenty of power as we are in Florida. The light works if it turn the switch on manually... the motion detector is the problem. January 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good, bright light This small unit casts a bright light, and its 180-degree motion sensor is calibrated so that it doesn't come on whenever the wind blows. Installation is very simple; remember to mount the solar panel on a western or southern exposure to soak up the sun. I have three of these lights and am well satisfied, though the price seems just a little high as compared to the going rate for similar units by way of online retailers. All in all, I'd buy another without hesitation. February 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not as bad as people are saying Installed this light about 2 days ago. Install was very easy, and i am not having any of the 'strobe light' issues that other posters are speaking of. It's a /lot/ brighter than i was expecting, and lights up a good portion of my front yard. The motion sensor seems to work well, not the 50 feet mentioned on the packaging, more like 25 feet. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product All parts were delivered intact. The shipping box was intact. You got my shipping address wrong but UPS got it right. Assembly instructions easy to follow. No special tools required. Item works great. Thanks for a job well done. August 4, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not worth it Wife bought 2 of these - 1 front & 1 back. I was skeptical but wanted to try LED. Both worked fine for a few days after initial charge - Back one quit working after a week - I switched it to Front for 2 days just to be sure & it still didn't work. After a couple weeks the Front one started blinking - it would turn on whenever motion was detected, but then turn off in 2-3 seconds, then come on again with motion. It had enough juice because it could do this several times in an evening. Tried different settings to no avail even with new AA batteries. Sometimes it would stay on for the 5 minutes, but mostly not. After 3 weeks I gave up & returned both. Light output about like a 60w incandescent - satisfactory for what we needed. Based on other reviews, I'm going to spend more & go with Lithonia or different brand that is hardwired LED. June 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love it! I read the reviews after I bought the product and had serious misgivings. I kept the box handy just in case we had to return the product. After installing per the instruction sheet, we kept the light switch OFF for five full days for the batteries to receive a complete charge. Also, per instructions, the solar panel is on the roof of the house, free from obstructions, and getting the full force of the sun. The light itself is positioned just under the eave of the roof. The light works exactly as it was intended to do and I love it to bits! (Maybe the secret is letting the batteries get a full charge before turning the product on - 4 to 5 days will do it.)
