Yes, it stays at half power until someone or some thing triggers the motion sensor. Then it comes on at full power for however long you set it for, and then goes back to half power.

No, this means that the light operates at reduced output. It still responds to the photocell and the motion sensor.

Hi Buyer, you're right. The light stays on at a reduced level. You can set the time for 3 hrs, 6 hrs, or from dusk to dawn. While in this setting, the light will become brighter if motion is detected.

Doing some research, I found out that the sensor is so sensitive in this new model that just the heat or reflected light from the unit itself will constantly trigger the sensor. So, I put the sensitivity all the way down, and swung the arms all around in different positions until I could get it to work properly. It took a long while, but I finally got the right configuration to make it work properly. Read Less

If you want to toggle the amount of time the light stays on (this is not motion detected time) try the "DUAL-BRIGHT" switch. This switch set to off will cause the light to only light when motion is detected (and then to what the on time switch is set for) when dark enough. if the DB switch is set to the 3 or 6 you will get a semi lit light for that duration in hours I think when first powered on. The Dawn to Dusk will make the light illuminate at something like 1/2 power for the duration of the darkness. Hope that helps
The manual link I saw earlier in another question doesn't seem to be accurate. Here is an updated link to the model I referenced above.

That is the problem with these lights. They just stay on, and they're not supposed to. I had two sets and no matter the settings they just stayed on super bright mode all night. They are supposed to switch between bright and dim, or on/off depending on the setting.

Yes If it is attached to a wall switch, simply turn the switch off and immediately back on. The light will come on and stay on until it cycles off in the morning. To reset, turn the light off, wait about 10 seconds and turn it back on. It will come on and cycle as normal.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Complete garbage ... do not waste your money The installation was not too bad ... however the screws that you are provided to install the bar stripped rather easily. I got it installed as the screws stripped. This is really a problem considering the unit does not function out of the box. I went into test mode and the lights just blink on and off. Though maybe my new bulbs were bad, so I put my old ones back in. Now, the one light stays on full brightness no matter what. The other light never comes on. Stays this way no matter what any settings are. I am sorry I purchased this. I am sorry I have to try to get those stripped screws back out. June 17, 2016
