Why don't you sell an adaptor for the pre-drilled doors?

I love the look and price of this door knob!! However, I am not a handy person and I am trying to retrofit my 1950's pre-drilled doors so I can use this product. I have been searching on-line but have not found anything that looks like it will work. Why don't you develop/sell an adaptor for purchase to assist customers with this issue? It seems from the questions and answers on this site that the pre-drilled door issue prevents enough people using the product that it might be worthwhile. If you know of an easy solution for a non-handy person, please share. Thank you.

Answer:
You can use a small block of wood on each side of the assembly, as a shim, so you can tighten the screws during installation until an adapter is developed.

You can also glue in small squares into the pre-drilled hole where you can screw in the screws to hold the backplate on. Read Less

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful door knobs! I am replacing all of the interior doors at my house and wanted to have crystal door knobs instead of the ugly brass ones. My handyman installed these with no problem and they really elevate the look of my remodel. I also love the satin finish on the hardware. April 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use just parts of the part I just used the knobs of this set to replace a different lock set that the knobs had broken off. March 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Glass Knob This knob is exactly the look we wanted for our Grandma's old-style bathroom. The knob is well made, looks great and works very well. The lock works smooth and easy to use. September 27, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by the glass knob is pretty! but... easy to install, looks very nice. unfortunately, after about 6 weeks, one of the glass knobs fell out of the brass holder. i do not see a way to secure it back in place--had to return the product. both glass parts were a little jiggly/loose from the start. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Product easy to install in older door and looks GREAT!!!!! November 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value it was easy to assemble however you need to screw what I call caps into the door, so if you're replacing a larger door handle the hole may be too big. Still good value for the price and I would recommend this product and I would buy it again. October 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ornamental knob only -- These knobs DO NOT fit pre-drilled interior doors. They are not true room to room door knobs - ornamental knobs more suited for a china cabinet than internal doors. Useless must be returned September 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Classic looking knobs Love the look of these door knobs. The holes that go through the door are a smaller diameter then for standard doorknobs so you might need to do some fill in. September 13, 2016
