Rated 2.4 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor quality, especially for something you have to climb a ladder and wire into a circuit I wired this in and it stopped working the second day. Of course, I can flip the switch and force it on, but I'd be better off without this "sensor". I guess that's what it boils down to, it's lazy, most of the time it doesn't sense, the LED doesn't flicker when you walk by, wave your hands, jump up and down, drive a car past it at 80 MPH (boy, the neighbors were really annoyed when I ended up in their back yard). Quite simply, avoid the mistake I made and spend a little more. November 1, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well but didn't last I installed the sensor in September. It was working before we left to go south in November. When we returned in March, the light was constantly on. HD customer service informed me that the sensor could not be installed in the same circuit with a motor or anything similar. Our garage door opener is on the same circuit, and that is what they pointed to as being the problem. There is nothing in the packaging or use care guide to inform customers of this issue. I was told that I could rewire and isolate the motion detector, or they could send a special order sensor without the day/night dimmer. I opted for the latter. April 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than replacing entire light I had a motion light that uses this motion sensor stop working. I was considering replacing the light. I went to Home Depot to see what options of light were there. The same light was priced higher than what i was willing to pay. As I was walking away I noticed the motion sensor for a fraction of the cost of the light. I thought " what do I have to loose?" I purchased it. Installation was an ease. Had to cut some connectors from the original sensor but re-attached all the wires with wire nuts. re-installed the light and tested the sensitivity. All works good as new and for the fraction of the cost of a full replacement well worth it. March 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Details. . . . it only works on Halogen bulbs is ONLY available on line Looks great and was OK to install. The red led never light up that I could see. The evening after I installed it the front porch light stayed dim and flickered. I read the manual over a couple times and decided to change the DUALBRITE switch. It did not help I came inside and read the on line that it is for halogen lights. Nothing anywhere else said anything about halogen bulbs. The lights are incandescent and LED so that may be the problem. Why can't Home Depot do a better job letting us know the application for this produce? March 1, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't like cold weather Installed the motion sensor in mid-summer. It worked great until winter. When temperatures dip below 20 degrees, lights stay on ALL NIGHT long. Not happy about having to climb up and replace this unit in January in Albany, NY with temps in single digits. January 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excelent Sensativity My old sensor finally died and I bought the 270 degree outdoor sensor. To my great surprise it is twice as good as the old sensor in detecting movement in our back yard. It was so sensitive it turned the lights on when our backyad neighbor was standing at her sink in her kitchen. WE turned down the sensitivity and it still has greater sensitivity than our old one. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jury is out I have 3 of these sensors on my house. None has lasted more than 9 months. I think I've gone through about 10 so far. The lamps they are driving have been compact fluorescents and if that's a problem, I guess it's on me. This last time, as a desperation move, I retired all my fluorescent floods and went back to incandescents. Maybe that will help. I have some vague memory that earlier versions said they weren't rated for fluorescents. I read the literature for the newest ones carefully and there is no such disclaimer. If this doesn't work, I'm done with this brand. December 30, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works great until........... This worked great for two months until I had to shut the circuit breaker off. When I turned the breaker back on the light controlled by the motion detector came on and stayed on all night. Looking at the trouble shooting guide I discovered it should not be wired in the same circuit that has a motor, transformer or fluorescent bulb on the same circuit. Nowhere in the installation or pre-installation instructions are these limitations mentioned. I had originally ran a new circuit for this device and two electric powered sun shades (future installation) not realizing it probably won't work. I'm still not sure why it stopped working when I shut the circuit off. June 2, 2014
