I had an old Home Depot outdoor security light (purchased 20 years ago) and one of the lamp mount lock nuts against the base had become loose and one of the lamps had sagged into a vertical position. When I tightened the lock nut using hand force only the apparently fatigued METAL base just broke into about 5 pieces! So I went back to Home Depot and purchased this item (pretty much the best one they had of this kind) but this time the base is just made of miserable plastic which will deteriorate and become brittle in the full sunlight in no time at all. When attaching the light covers, if you apply any kind of force to twist the cover into it's locking position the cheapest possible metal it's made of just deforms like it's made of lead. Finally, the existing circular junction box I had to attach this thing to had different hole positions to the available hole positions in the light base so I had to rotate the junction box and use only 2 instead of 4 screws. Sigh.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DispleasedCustomer Horrible motion sensor
Motion detection range is nowhere near the 70ft advertised; more like an inconsistent 20ft. I will be returning this and researching a better product. I'm just wondering who will compensate me for the wasted time to install and uninstall.... Horrible product. Buyer beware.

Got this to corner mount under eave. Unfortunately the builders placed the wiring next to the downspout limiting my options to rotate the lights. Since the motion detector is close to the mounting plate the bulbs block the sensor's range so I don't get anywhere near the 270 coverage. Returning to get something that extends the detector away from the mounting plate and the bulbs. Looks like HD has a 180 with LED bulbs that may meet my needs. Everything was here and it looks good, was easy to install just didn't meet my needs.

I'm overall disappointed with the quality of most merchandise purchased lately.
This motion sensor spot light is really no exception.
the metal is flimsier. The manner in which the cover plate that has the motion sensor attachment and socket extensions has only one middle screw to connect it to the box. Though overall easier to install, I find it more cumbersome over all with the horizontal plate it connects to with working around wires and tucking things in as neat as possible.
Being 50 now, I think back at the quality of products purchased in years past, and these just aren't measuring up.
I did keep the light as it does work and looks good, and the time it would take to return isn't there.

These lights were easy to install. I was finished an hour start to finish. I really like the quality. This is a higher quality than the ones I replaced. Metal light hood / protector over the bulb is nice. Worked first time and works great now.

Installed by experienced handyman with minimal problem and worked great for about a week. Since then light has been on constantly 24/7, red motion light flashing continuously. Ran through all of the troubleshooting in the manual ( changed light positions etc) with no improvement. Taking it down now and returning it tomorrow.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BF Does Not Dim
The fixture is reasonably good quality. The box contains the little screws, mounting bracket & etc. needed to mount the light to a circular box. Installation went OK. I bought this fixture specifically for the 'dimming feature' - the ability to have the light provide subdued illumination all night at half power while going to full power when detecting motion. Unfortunately, the light never dims. The bulbs are always on at full power. The motion detector is, therefore, useless and I could have accomplished exactly the same thing using a standard outdoor fixture while saving $20 in the process. I did not see another review that referenced this problem. Perhaps I was just unlucky.
