Product is all metal construction...one thing to be aware of during installation: The screws that are for the Entry Knob will fit the deadbolt; but the screws for the deadbolt will NOT fit the knob. You will either, strip the screws or strip the screw mounts on the exterior knob.
The easiest way to tell: Both are machine screws with a flat "end", but the screws for the knob have threads that extend the whole length of the screw. The screws for the deadbolt, only have threads a little less than half way up the screw and are a bit larger in diameter.

The Brandywine stainless steel entry knob pack was a great purchase for two of my entry home doors. Purchasing everything separate would had added up fast but with the pack it saved me money! The installation was a breeze and within little time I was able to get the job done. The design looks great and happy with the quality. If your looking for a low cost knob/deadbolt combo this would be it! Feeling safe and secure. The best pro is having the same key work for both doors without having the frustration of digging in your pocket/purse for a separate key.

I bought 2 sets of these doorknobs and am only moderately impressed with their performance. All of them have one side of the knob or the other that feels like it will pull out from the apparatus. I've been installing doorknobs for many years and have used this product several times before. The difference this time is the way things fit together that don't necessarily make me feel secure with my choice. But, I'm on a limited budget and didn't get a chance to replace the knobs before more than 30 days had passed, so I'm stuck with my purchase until I can afford a different brand.

After about two years of normal use the handle has become very difficult to turn and "sticks" when turned. It is now almost unusable and requires a lot of force and some shaking to fully turn and open.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by buckaroobanzai Tough Enough and Economical
I have been buying these locks for years now. They have never let me down yet. So far they work extremely well. The only thing I wish is that they have a little more oil or some other type of lubricant. I use light oil so it will not attract dust but enough to make sure the constant use does not wear on the mechanisms. They are tough enough to withstand normal use and they may last for use if treated properly. These locks use to be a little more economical. But for those of us that do not have a big budget these locks are the best.

I have been buying these
Defiant door lock and deadbolt sets for years. I have 6 rentals that require the locks being changed every time a tenant vacates.
I buy them because they are priced right, they are reliable, and i can buy a set of 4 door locks and deadbolts that all use the same key. The tenants like the convenience of 1 key for the deadbolt and door knob.

When I tried to replace my existing hardware, the doorknob went on easily enough. However, when I tried to replace the deadbolt the first thing I noticed is that this product had a thin strip of metal to connect the external key portion with the inside plate, (the old deadbolt had more of a cylinder but shaped so you could only fit it into the bolt portion one way). The thin metal bent while I was trying to install the first of the two deadbolts in the set. I tried the 2nd deadbolt in the same door, using the key to adjust the positioning of the inner metal strip so the inside switch would't block the bolt holes. However, once I got everything screwed together the key wouldn't come out of the lock. I'll be looking for some new hardware that doesn't use thin metal to connect the inner and outer portions with the bolt - hopefully I will have better luck with that.
