Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Maintenance good light.........but
I bought one and the switch went bad after about a year. I bought a second one and the switch on it just broke after about 9 months or so. Great light I use it just about every work day multiple times a day. So, can I recommend it? For home, use from time to time, yep I think it would be great. For an every day work light. Nope.

I bought two of these lights and both stopped charging in under 3 months. I love the features and function of the light but I need a light that lasts longer than 3 months.

So I bought this yesterday, charged it up, and the switch is hinky. It works about one time out of three - right out of the package. So I'm going to return it. Probably would have been a nice light otherwise: mostly metal, nice feel, pretty bright.
But the magnet protrudes from the bottom base about 0.1mm, so it doesn't stand up stably. And the magnet isn't strong enough to hold the weight of the light.
I was looking for Defiant's web site, to see if there was any support tips that might make it work for me, but there wasn't one. It appears Defiant is just a house brand for Home Depot.
I wouldn't have written a review, but now I'm getting ads in other web pages for this light.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by marcdcmb Everything else is very good, but the magnet can't hold it properly and juts out of the bottom
I did not have any issues with the switch that I saw mentioned by other reviewers.
But I found that the magnet juts out of the base by about 1 mm, enough to make the light unstable when you try to rest it on a non-metal flat surface. The way it is packaged you cannot see the magnet, it is covered by an instruction/specification sheet until you tear it out of the blister pack.
Also, and this is due to the battery sticking out that little bit. the light barely hangs on to any metal surface if it is on an angle. For example the inside hood of your car while working on the engine. The weight of the light causes it to tilt such that only a portion of the magnet is touching the metal surface and then it will start to slide, especially if you jostle the car at all.
The light is really nice and bright and I LOVE the fact that it uses Li-ion batteries so it will keep its charge well between uses, but when I place my light in position it needs to stay put and not wobble or slide away.
I may try to pick up another one when I return this. If the magnet placement was a fluke I'll definitely keep the new one and I'll return here and up the rating to a 5.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BPM21 Extremely bright light
I received this light as a Christmas present and it has become the “Go to” light when a flashlight or work light is needed at our home. As a flashlight it is noticeably brighter than my four D-cell Maglite flashlight. As a work light it puts out an impressive amount of light and I like the hex nut design that allow it to be laid down on its side without rolling and the light aimed where it is needed. The LEDs are extremely bright and I’d advise pointing the light away from your face when it is turned on.

Good light so far, I've had it about 3 months. The price was a little stiff ($30) but it is mostly metal and feels sturdy so I can't complain too much. I use it sitting on it's base while painting interior walls and it lights up at least half the wall really well, maybe more. The other end is a pretty strong flashlight. I bought it to carry with me in the crawlspace under my house and it's great for that. Good design as it won't roll when it's laying on its side. Good for walking around the neighborhood after dark, and believe me cars will see you. No need to shine it in their eyes, only down on the road. The only cons I have are that the switch is a little tricky sometimes but not enough to keep me from recommending the product. The other con would be the long charge time which I would say is at least 4 hours, maybe a little more. So charging is an overnight thing. But so far it's been great. 4 stars because I've only had it a short time.

Spot light lasted less than 2 days. Switch is clumsy to use. Otherwise a great light.

Failed after 10 and a half months of irregular use despite being babied (not droppped, charged regularly, etc). Home Depot says I have to contact the manufacturer but there is no viable way to do so.
