Customer Questions & Answers

Can an extension cord be plugged into this? I need to plug in 6 items for 2 aquariums - 140 watt total for all 6. Thx :)

Asked by: kpsd
Yes and yes...... use a good quality extension cord, keep it as short as possible.... what you are looking for is total amp draw you are using,,,,, here is a guesstimate on amp draw for what you have, 140 watts/110 volts = 1.27 amps So you are drawing a little over an amp total, factor in connection resistance, extension cord resistance and so on you should be good :) this unit rated for 15 amps... Hope this helps!

GFCI 5-Outlet Adapter is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GFCI is not a circuit overload breaker..... Answering review above..... If your microwave is tripping the breaker for that circuit on your main panel in the basement, then you have a problem with the microwave, or the circuit in your house..... this device here is a GFCI breaker, not a current overload breaker... big difference..... here is what a GFCI is and does... Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) are devices designed to protect personnel from electrical shock hazards due to faults in electrical equipment or when working in wet or damp locations. GFCIs are not designed to provide circuit overload protection for equipment and wiring. That is the job of a fuse or circuit breaker. Also this GFCI outlet adapter is rated at 15 amps... that means you can use an appliance or anything that runs on 120 volts that draws 15 amps or less while in use without the unit burning up or failing.... Please get yourself a qualified electrician to diagnose your problem :)

Good multi-outlet adapters, GFCI or not, repurpose the central threaded hold normally occupied by the wall plate screw- this fails to do so.
