I'm looking for a 'modern' latch set to go in a 'modern' door, but want to use Victorian brass knobs mounted on a 1/4" shank.
Haven't found anything in the specs about the door knob shank. I see the opening is square (good so far) but need to know whether it's 1/4".
Thanks,
Reid

Door locks that are specified as "Keyed Entry" are packaged with a latch that has a special "security pin" designed to prevent the use of a "credit card" in trying to force the latch to push back once the door is closed. Please note... the latch must be properly installed for this feature to work however. The little security pin MUST be engaged by resting on the strike-plate of the door jamb when the door is close. This then 'mobilizes' the larger plunger piece, preventing the credit card from pushing the latch back. If you have further questions regarding this, we would be happy to answer them for you. Answer:
you can use this on just about any door where you need to secure it with a key. I don't recommend using them as keys can get lost. Interior doors are much easier to open with a simple tool just in case you're locked out.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I installed the handset in about ten minutes, including removal of the lockset to be replaced. Love the look too. Very nice. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good purchase I bought 3 units of this product and 1 of them was not assembled the key core was not in the knob it self so I put it in and then the key did not work. Then I couldn't take it apart to see if there was something I could do different but could get it apart. over all the others worked very well. September 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Lock for the Money I have Defiant locks on all my doors. They have lasted 14 years so far, only one needed a little graphite lube, and it has been exposed to the weather all it's life. The Millwork Dept. was happy to re-key my recent purchase to match my existing keys. Would recommend. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Very pretty, easy to install. We changed out two of our door knobs because we weren't going to be home while contractors were working on the house, and these were great. June 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Defiant Knob Works perfectly fine except the inside wouldn't fit in my door. It wouldn't allow me to fit the knob so I had to use the old one and it fit perfectly fine. Besides that I would totally recommend it. May 24, 2016
