Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works great, red light is bright This GFCI is a great plug to use in an outlet that is not grounded. However, the red light is very bright and gets a little warm. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great solution for mobile or temporary GFCI So I've used 2 of these for the last 6 weeks as ground fault protection for ("warm mist" type room humidifiers. My rating is based on that usage. I use these with this type of humidifier for 3 reasons: 1) some people have warned of heating elements overheating to the point of smoking/melting the unit, 2) some users have complained about the units leaking water out onto the floor, and 3) I use it in my daughters room where it could get bumped/knocked over. An appliance design that necessarily places an electric heater adjacent to >1 gallon of water seemed to warrant some sort of shock protection. I place the humidifiers in a plastic tub to avoid water leakage/damage, and then use these GFCI adapters to avoid shock hazard if the powered parts make contact with the water or a person or both. Not sure if GFCI will do anything to mitigate fire risk if the humidifier safety shutoff (if out of water) fails and the element overheats. Other observations: GFCI adapter is pretty warm to the touch -- even if in test/turned off state. The construction-yellow color doesn't do much for interior décor, but doesn't bother me -- most will use this for outdoor power tools/equipment anyway. March 5, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by now I hope I don't have to worry about getting a killer shock and work more dangerously the only real way to test it out is to ground it out August 2, 2013
