hello I just received my fiddle leaf fig tree this would be my third one! my previous two did not survive. I was wondering approximately how many oz of water to water the plant and how often? also what kind of fertilizer to use for this plant ?
Asked by: simply
Hi-I water my plants every Saturday or Sunday. My little watering container-thing holds 32 ounces. I've attached a picture of the one I just got with the one I've had for just 15 months, so you can see they do grow pretty quickly. Good luck!

So will this remain solely a bush, or will it grow to resemble more of a tree?

Asked by: Dddd
Mine is about 8' tall after I cut it back. It grew without a lot of foilage so I topped it about a year ago and it is a beautiful "tree" now. I put it outside last summer in the shade but normally keep it in my plant room. I have had it for years.

How well does this plant tolerate a low humidity environment during the heating months up here in the northeast?
Asked by: steetbach
Hi, In short, low humidity is fine; the alternative is not okay. I think low humidity is fine; despite where the plant comes from, it seems like the fiddle fig plant doesn't adapt well in high temp/humid NYC weather. NYC unlike many other states, seems to have the most disgustingly humid summer weather and the plant feels it because my plant started to blotch brown spots and not due to over watering because i water it only once a week and only what's necessary (read and follow expert's advice, including HD experts). I can't attest for the rest of the eastern coastal states. I think the plant would fare well in low humid climates.

This is the second one of these I bought from Home Depot and Delray Plants. The price is right, and you can't go wrong. My last Ficus Pandurata I bought is about 15 months old and about 6 feet tall, and still in perfect condition. I've attached pictures of my new purchase, and the one I purchased 15 months ago so you can see how well they will do.

The plant was shipped from FL, yet it arrived green and strong, unaffected by the long 5 days travel to NYC - it even looks better than the HD store plants! I hope this plant will grow into a gorgeous fiddleleaf fig tree. It's been almost a month since it's shipment. I water it twice a week, and it seems to be adapting well with filtered light from the kitchen window. I didn't want to shock it, so to date, I haven't re-pot it, which I am looking to do very soon. I read that the fiddle fig plant takes time adjusting into new surroundings and requires lots of TLC. I've been cleaning the leaves every week with a wet paper towel, keeping the soil moist with every 3-4 days, and it seems to be working. I plan on buying another one to reshape as a tree once it grows and the bark/stem grows thicker (to remove lower leaves). Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase! This cute little plant was well watered and packaged and arrived safely in great condition. I am extremely surprised and pleased! I bought this along with a rubber tree plant and an aloe plant which also arrived in the same great condition, so you will see this same review on their product pages. Will definitely be buying more plants online from Home Depot after this experience:) !

I am so relieved to finally get this plant in the mail, and it is GORGEOUS!! I couldn't have ordered at a worse time as the weather in Chicago is cold and snowy and I had put in the order in a spurt of warm weather the week previous. Initially, I was very iffy about ordering a plant online without seeing it in person, but Home Depot's 90 warranty reassured me. I read previous reviews of previous buyers receiving only one stem, or a plant with very few leaves, but am so happy to say that mine came with TWO stems and a full-bodied soiree of leaves. The buds at top look a bit pale, but I'm not sure if that's due to their time in a rough transit or simply because they are still babies. Price is agreeable and affordable for me, seeing as other places are charging an arm and a leg for a (granted) mature one. All in all, very satisfied!

From a well packaging and secured transport, to a speedy and caring delivery/handling, to quality of product.. You guys ROCK! Thank you Home Depot, Delray Plants, UPS! This was indeed a better online purchase experience compared to some mediocare vendor and suppliers. Ordered my first fiddle leaf fig few weeks before ordering for Delray, night and day customer experience and support. Let the photos show you the proof. Twinnies fiddle leaf fig bushes arrived safely and is now home. Named them Elsa (white ceramic pot) and Anna (woven basket) from the Disney movie Frozen.

It arrived with brown spots and wilted leaves. I have been trying to nurse these plants back to health since I repotted them. I currently have a healthy fiddle leaf fig that has grown as tall as I am (5'5").

A few leaves have brown spots. 3 lower leaves fell off in the package. The brown areas increased as days go by. I place the plant in a bright spot near a east window, keep the soil moderately moist, have not repotted yet, don't want to give it extra shock from the traveling. It doesn't look "root-bound". Hopefully things would improve. I had thrown out the packing receipt so not sure I am able to exchange it?
