Answer:
The pot is 9 inches in diameter. I would say the plant is about 3-3.5 feet tall. I was able to easily lug the box (it is narrow-like 10 inches x 3.5 ft) from the concierge at the ground floor to the elevator, to my apartment at the end of the hall. And I am a small person. It is surprisingly light.

Answer:
Hello!
The Majesty Palm is tropical by nature and should not be exposed to temperatures below 55 degrees f or below. It will need to brought indoors if your climate zone has temperatures at or below the above temperature to avoid chill injury.
Thanks for your inquiry!

They keepd dying

I bought one last spring and it turned brown and died in a few days. I read up on them and when I bought a new one this spring I repotted it in a much larger, self-watering pot, set it in an enclosed east-facing porch, never let it dry out, and it STILL turned brown and died almost immediately. It put up two new fronts but they turned brown even before they unfurled.

I bought these in the store both times, but I see this says they're only available online. Do you only put them in the store when they start dying? Is that why they were only $10?

Hello,
For these to turn brown and die almost instantly it is most likely related to an environmental extreme such very cold or very hot temperatures. It’s best to maintain these between 70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid cold air drafts and also windy conditions regardless of temperatures. These palms are very susceptible to dying from overly dry soil for an extended period. It’s best to maintain moderate moisture in the soil media and avoid overly drying and also soggy conditions. These palms grow naturally on the outside edges of river beds in the wild and prefer constant moderate soil moisture levels.
Try and maintain in moderate to bright light conditions. If you prefer sun exposure they would need to be acclimated slowly over the course of several weeks. I’m not sure why they’re indicated as only available on line because these are one of our best selling items that we ship to sell at the stores.
We grow these from seed and nurture them along for approximately 1 ½ years before shipping in this container size. We ship only very good quality products outbound from the nursery and unfortunately what happens in transit and afterwards is beyond our control. We certainly would not ship a poor performer for any reason from the nursery.
I hope these guidelines are somewhat helpful.
Thank you,
Delray Plant Co.

9-1/4 in. Majesty Palm in Pot is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fairly easy to care for Fairly easy to care for. The plant came with ten growths and one has started to yellow and brown out after almost a month. However, a new shoot formed as well. Watering every six days or so. We have so-so light in the apartment and the other nine growths are still going strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent We bought 2 of them to add a little color to our living area! These trees were gorgeous and although my first Palms I decided they were worth a chance... brought them in and for 2 weeks they were great and then last week they started to droop and no matter watering they just didn't seem to get enough... so this weekend I bought new pots 16" and transplanted them Sunday evening and yesterday (Monday) when I got home they were perky and standing straight up again! To those that claim the tree is dying because they bought it from HD need to realize that the 10" pots they come with are merely TEMPORARY potters they need and SHOULD be changed within a week of purchasing the plant... rule of thump for TREES the roots are TWICE as long as the tree is tall (if your tree is 5 ft tall the roots will be nearly 10 ft long) they become root bound very quickly! I love my palms and the NEW pots they are housed in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Arrived in excellent condition I was a bit skeptical about ordering plants online but did not have much of a choice because I don't have a car and I am always busy. I bought this palm online because I am decorating my apartment and wanted a tropical feel to it. The plant arrived around 5 days after I ordered it, in a box with holes so that the plant could breathe. I was surprised at how well packed it was and how it kept the leaves and the soil intact. It is beautiful and it now sits in a corner of my living room. Great buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Regrets Here! I absolutely love this palm! I don't know why it says online only because I bought mine in a long island store about 4 months ago and at the time they had a large selection of them. Over the course of a few months I learned that it really does require a lot of water. If the frond tips are turning brown they are not receiving enough water. Yellow tips mean too much water. I move mine outdoors on warm still days. Temp should be kept between about 70 and 90 degrees and not direct sunlight seems best. Fertilize every few months when actively growing and you will have a very happy palm. These are not forgiving palms so once they go bad its hard to turn them around. Eventually the fronds will die and its best to clip them from the base after they have fully died. Mine continues to look beautiful and I am very happy with my purchase.
