Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Delta shower cartridge I have a small leak on my Delta shower that was installed in 1991. The installation is fairly simple. This would last for another long years.. January 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Warranty in the Business Our home was built in 2004 with the 1700 monitor series installed in the main shower. Recently we've experienced a small drip and after looking for replacement parts I about blew a gasket when I saw the price of a new cartridge. Fortunately a reviewer somewhere reminded me that Delta offers a lifetime warranty on these parts for the original owner. A brief phone call with Delta and replacement seals/springs were in my mailbox within a week. I applied a little silicone grease to the seals and in 5 minutes it was good as new. March 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to Find High End Delta parts HD had only one ( I guest high end parts are expense to stock ) Lowes didn't stock them. I drove 40 miles to the HD to pick it up, wish they had more. It fitted and had extras parts to complete the replacement. Overall Thanks HD for having it in stock. August 26, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Warning: Delta Valve design is BAD ! I'm writing this as a warning to anyone who has a Delta shower valve that uses this type of cartridge (and possibly similar models). If your water flow has slowed to a trickle and you are hoping that a new cartridge will fix it, sorry but it probably won't. The problem is a hopelessly flawed design from Delta. Once the water flows through and leaves the cartridge, it goes back into the valve body on its way to the tub spout. Unfortunately in the valve body it has to go through a conical mixer/pressure reducer (not sure what function they were thinking for the internal cone) which ends with a 1/16" clearance to the valve wall. So, unless your shower water is perfectly pure & filtered, any errant pieces of rust, hard water deposits, silt, sand, etc are going to get stuck at this point. They will build up until your water flow trickles to nothing ! The only way I've found to fix it is to get access to the bottom of the valve. Then remove the pipe going to the spout and create a thin sheet metal tool to stick up into the orifice to dislodge the debris. If you have this type of valve, you'll be able to feel the bottom of the cone if you stick your pinky into the bottom about 3/4". I have used this procedure on a valve in one of my rentals twice and both times flow was restored. IMO this is a fundamental design flaw on the part of Delta, rendering these valves totally defective. I, for one, will never buy another Delta product. June 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Over price and very poor product... I have rental property and had to replace shower parts that used this series, and I must say it cause me more issues than the old one did. I would recommend never to use this product at all..... July 20, 2013
