What is a "Mode Switch"?

Absolutely no information given about the mode switch this fan requires. Very disappointing to receive this fan and discover this unknown wiring. If you are replacing an existing fan you are not likely to have wiring for two circuits already wired. So how do you wire this fan to an existing two wire circuit and get all the features? I called the number listed in the instructions and get nothing but voicemail and no returned call after several hours on a normal business day.

Hi Jon,
We apologize for not catching your call. We understand if you are replacing an existing fan, there is a possibility of not have two wires available to wire the black and blue from our fan. There are a few wiring scenarios you may try if you only have one wire available. If you would like the fan to run in humidity mode only, connect the power black wire to the existing black from the switch box and leave the blue wire untouched. If you would like to have the fun turn on in full speed all the time and by-pass the humidity function, combine the black and blue wire and connect both to the existing black wire from the switch box. Finally, if you would like the fan to turn on in full speed and turn off in humidity mode, please hot-wire the Power Black from our fan and connect the Mode Blue to the switch box. Read Less

Answer:
Hi Tony,
You should have at least 2 to 3 feet of horizontal pipe run with a 1 to 2 degree downward gradient before turning the pipe in any direction.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 130 CFM works great! Per our house plans we were required to add in a larger than normal 130 CFM Fan. I had heard many negatives about fans this large, how they might be very loud. With the adjustable settings on this fan the noise level has been great. It also pulls plenty of air to ensure the laundry room does not get too humid. The cover looks nice and we are very happy with this product. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Quiet with Unique Wiring Be aware that this fan has unique wiring that requires two switches if you follow the installation instructions included. If you call their customer service or search their website you'll find other options. In our case we didn't want another switch. We wired the black March 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Exhaust Unit was actually quite a bit larger than expected. Has great suction though August 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by It is just another exhaust fan The sensors doesnot work atall. I was charged extra forty dollars for the humidity sensors which is missing. July 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best bath fan ever owned. Upgraded bathroom by adding this fan. Mounted by adding in 2-foot long 2x8's on each side of fan to fit between joists. Installed 6" flexible metal duct and penetrated stucco under eave. Installed a 2-rocker switch to match existing decor. Results: Totally silent in dry mode; barely audible on high! One happy camper. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we needed to assist with humidity problems in the bathroom Product is quite and removes moist air from showers quickly. September 23, 2014
