Answer:
Sounds like you might have the cartridge reversed. There is one side that is supposed to be on the hot side and there should be an H or Hot on the cartridge. Then you also need to adjust the anti-scalding limit or you won't get very hot water.

Answer:
It sounds like the unit was installed improperly. There is some very fine etching on the unit that shows the hot water side and the cold water side. You need to make sure that the unit is properly aligned to the hot water and cold water supply.

Answer:
Most likely you have installed the cartridge incorrectly. It should have the hot side indicated on the cartridge. Make sure it is on the correct side, in most cases that is on the left side. You may also need to adjust the stop on the temp. It is located on the stem.

Been there, done that, didn't work. Replace the whole cartridge.
I've replaced the seats and springs successfully with a Delta kitchen and lav faucet, but not with the shower valve.

Yes Joe you can replace all of the "O" rings springs and seats if you can find the "EXACT" ones. That would save you some money. Just make sure they are the exact fit if not, you may continue having leaks. The seals, springs, and seats are the main culprit for the leakage. Happy fixing!!!

Answer:
Hi Joe,
Thank you for your question. We do not recommend taking apart Delta Faucet model RP19804 which houses the seats and springs, so if your faucet is leaking, replace the cartridge.
Thanks.

Answer:
Yes, Delta Faucet Company says the replacement cartridge for the 1300-1400 model series is the Delta part RP19804. It has a white top but, yes, it works. The replacement cartridge has a different rotational limit stop mechanism on it than the OEM part had; however it works pretty much the same.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP46074 cartridge is used with our multi-choice valve and has a gray top. Delta Faucet model # RP19804 cartridge is used with our older valves and the two cannot be interchanged.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It works... eventually. I'm guessing if you need this, it's because you're replacing a worn out part which may not necessarily come out easily. I recommend buying the whole assembly instead of trying to rebuild either the hot or cold side since I obliterated the old one trying to take it out. You know, the whole hard water and corrosion build up thing? Anyway, it was a pain trying to get the old one out so I could put this one in. Then I had to carefully pound to get it to fit completely. I was a little scared I might bash a hole through my wall or destroy my pipes and then actually have to call a plumber, but no, my unskilled DIY hands were able to take care of the job. Don't worry too much. You can do, Home Depot can help. ;) June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Zep Stainless steel polish Excellent stainless steel polish. No build-up and great shine. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You don't need to call the plumber Easy for the DIYer with elementary plumbing skills. If you know how to cut the water off to your house and can turn a wrench, you can do this in 30 minutes if you take your time. I STRONGLY recommend you buy one of these before starting; it will make your job a lot easier as the circular ring nut that holds the cartridge in place has NO flats for a regular wrench. I originally tried using a pair of ChannelLocks and it didn't work. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-8-in-Strap-Wrench-009-193-HKY/202277618 One piece of advice: I found the "default" setting for the hot water limit was too darn cold. The "max hot" setting was barely hot enough. Depending on how hot your water is, you may need to adjust this setting. Be careful and set it intelligently so nobody gets scalded. Good thing is, the newer version of this cartridge allows you to set the hot water limit without removing the cartridge, so you can install it and then tweak it as much as you want without cutting off the water again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cartridge designed for Delta brand This product does exactly what it was designed to do. If your bathtub faucet (DELTA brand) leaks, this product is the answer for that leakage. It stopped mine! April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exact Fit!!! I was glad to get the exact replacement cartridge for the faucet rather than a generic. May 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not genuine This is the second time in a month I have gone to a HD to find the product at a $10 price premium over their listed online price. Not only that 12 were listed in stock on the web and when I got there one was on the shelf, and it had been opened. Sorry but the last time I bought a open cartridge someone had taken all the springs and seals out of it and I got a leaky replacement. For the listed price here the cartridge would be a savings but in the store you may as well pay a little more to completely rebuild the faucet with GENUINE Delta parts. Plus genuine Delta parts come with extra springs and rings for the next time the cartridge needs a rebuilding. Next time I'm just ordering from Amazon. February 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy as 1,2,3 to install I saved over $125.00 by purchasing this part at Home Depot & installing it myself which was as easy to do as 1,2,3. PS I am a woman too, hear me roar!!!!! April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Delays Cartridge Perfect, exactly what I needed. Shower was operational in less than 30 minutes. April 15, 2016
