Customer Questions & Answers

What parts are included in trim kit? Handle, sleeve etc. If the handle is included will it work with all cartridges?

I'm not sure what cartridge I have or need as I can't get the handle off.
Asked by: tnt87
You likely have the universal Delta rough in valve.. where the handle only rotates left and right and doesn't have separate temperature control... gets hotter as well as flow increase as you move the handle.. the only differences in the universal Delta valves they sell here are one of them has screwdriver stops to control temp.. the other two are screw on and slip on respectively.. but the valves themselves are the same.. if you want a different type where you can pull out the handle to control temp separately you'll need something like the American Standard valve.. but that requires plumbing work..

How do you turn on /off?

How do you turn on /off?
Asked by: haruchan
With this type the handle starts in the position shown in the image. As you turn the handle counter-clockwise the water will increase in flow and then toward the end it will slightly decrease. Temperature is part of this process.. the further you turn the handle the hotter the water will get. It doesn't have separate flow and temperature control.

Is the total range of movement a quarter turn or a half turn?

Asked by: gsmith
Dear GSmith, Thank you for your question. The handle of the Classic T13020 model has a quarter turn handle rotation, unless the limit stop on the cartridge has been adjusted. If the limit stop has been adjusted the handle will rotate a bit further almost closer to the 11 o'clock position. Is this available in a brushed nickel or stainless steel finish?

I am looking to replace just the trim on the shower handle and escutcheon and do not want the shower head, but I don't want the chrome finish. I seem to be having a hard time finding just the classic shower trim kit without the shower head/arm assembly.
Asked by: FarmGirl
Hi Farmgirl, Thank you for your question! The T13020 is available in Brushed Stainless Steel finish. The model would be T13020-SS. Best regards, Brandis

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would've worked but... User error This product was great except the plumber used a moen valve and i didn't realize that the different brands would not work together. Ultimately returned it with no issues.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from don't like it Requires the R10000-UNBX valve which doesn't allow for flow adjustment at all points across the dial.. meaning it rotates counter clockwise from cold to hot.. going from slow to full to slow.. so if you want the mid-temp setting between cold and hot you're basically on the pressure washing stage of water flow.. which is both hard to stand under and wasteful.. for lower water flow you have to either endure cold or hot water.. we're switching out for an American Standard with an R120 valve.. highly recommended by our plumber as both durable and functional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good update without ripping out plumbing. Good replacement for original trim. We replaced our polished brass trim with chrome. The face plate and sleeve seemed to be exactly the same size and weight as the original. The handle was just slightly smaller than my original. If you're replacing the trim, replace the valve cartridge behind it while you're at it. You'll be good for a long time and you won't have to take off the trim again. The long screws which hold the plate to the valve body can be a little bit fiddlesome and frustrating to get attached.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from shower trim kit Had bought valve previously to finish construction on my shower project. This trim allowed me to finish out the project without having to buy an entire shower valve kit- my valve was already installed. In a kit I would have gotten a shower head I did not want-since I wanted to install a shower wand. This seemed the least expensive way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful Hint I repair/service these units often for the motels I work for. The trim kit is a perfect fit and easy to replace...However, do yourself a favor and apply grease to the set screw in the handle. The set screws tend to become stuck after time, especially in hard water conditions and can be very difficult to remove.
