Customer Questions & Answers

Delta Classic 1-hole 1-handle bathroom faucet model #521-DST-A, one hole or three hole?

Name implies one hole is all that needs to be drilled but specifications say it needs three holes drilled. Which is correct as I am having new sink installed and have to tell supplier whether to drill 1 or 3 holes. Same question on model #520-DST.

Classic 4 in. Centerset Single-Handle Bathroom Faucet in Chrome is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would not buy again My plumber installed this faucet for me. It is well made, and I like that all the corners are very smooth and well-rounded so I don't hurt my hand. However, the handle you pull up on to turn on the water does not come out as far as the down spout, so it is not easy to grab the handle to turn on the water. The handle & down-spout are close together when the water is turned off. It is not easy to grab the handle. However, I DO like that the down spout comes out a little farther into my lavatory so that water doesn't splash behind the lavatory so much. This faucet is bigger than my last one. I would not buy this again. Hope this helps.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Faucet Cheap Guts Just purchased two of these bathroom faucets. The appearance/style is great exactly what we were looking for. The down side Delta "cheaped out" on the guts, especially the stopper mechanism. The connecting rods are plastic with a brass nut to lock in place. It does not hold and the treads strip after one tightening. Had to go to Ace Hardware purchase a $5 replace kit and use the metal parts. That worked great installed in minutes and made the overall faucet installation easier and brought the product up to the what should have been in the box. Delta should have done better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Noisy faucet, great 5 inch reach spout Not bad for $50 on "special buy" but noticeably loud on hot, cold and in between - think of toilet filling noise after a flush. Would have chosen a different one had I known it would be this noisy. Bought it for its low set, long reach spout to reduce splash and avoid having to scoop water with shorter spout. Already installed it and don't feel like paying a bit more and repeat the work all over again. Highly recommend testing the noise level first by only hooking up the supply lines (30" long pex) and run it to the drain before it is mounted, aligned and set with silicone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap Plastic This faucet is mostly plastic. I wish I had aimed higher for something more substantial. The store display in Evanston, Illinois was a little bit misleading because the faucets were up high so they could be seen but not touched. More specifically, the water inlet lines were a kind of homogeneous plastic such as polybutylene. It is difficult to route these so they do not interfere with the pop-up drain mechanism. It works but is cheap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cheap, 2nd leaker out of 3 bathrooms renovated cheap quality, was not expecting this from delta. we renovated 3 bathrooms in the plant, all using this same faucet, and this is the 2nd faucet to develop a leak from inside the faucet. it has plastic tubes coming out, that appear to be pushed up onto barbs, or maybe glued into place. Im not a fan of all of these new faucets coming out with plastic tubes versus the older style of hoses being installed to the faucet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good, but had an issue. I bought 2 in May of 2014. They look good, work well, and were fairly easy to install. As others mentioned, there is a significant amount of plastic, but that should prevent corrosion issues. (Pretty much any brand has a fair amount of plastic these days) The chrome actually is real metal. I recently started noticing that the chrome was blistering in the same spot on both faucets - an obvious defect. I had saved my paperwork and receipt. (Hint: put them in a ziploc bag and tape them under the sink) I called Delta to explain the issue. They were quite helpful. After I e-mailed them photos of the issue, they agreed to send replacement faucets. Kudos to Delta for taking care of the issue. Thanks Delta! I don't relish the idea of having to crawl back under both sinks to replace them again, but at least I don't have to pay for new faucets. I hope the replacements don't have the same issue down the road.
