Customer Questions & Answers

Is the faucet faulty?

My landlord had this faucet installed and it clunks when you turn on the water but the sprayer has low pressure. I've been told that the clunk is normal because of the pressure coming into the condo complex. After troubleshooting I've found that it could be that the sprayer diverter is not working properly - the pressure is not being evenly distributed. Is this common with this faucet? Can it be fixed or would I need a whole new faucet?
Asked by: Anonymous
That clunk is normal (apparently) for that particular unit. It is caused by a badly designed diverter (bad internal spring ?). Replace it with a Moen which sells for $1 cheaper and your problems will go away (at least problems involving the faucet).

Loud thumping sound

We purchased this faucet at HD, because we liked the simple clean design. Each time we turned it on, we heard a loud thumping sound, which had something to do w/ the diverter in the sprayer. Took that back, got another one, and the new one does the same thing. I know my husband installed it correctly. Trying to decide if we should just put up w/ it or take it back and try a 3rd one or maybe one w/o the sprayer. It is very aggravating every time I use the faucet to have that loud thumping noise. Do they all do this, and do you think one w/o the sprayer would not do this?

Same problem with mine. I did all the disconnects, purging the line, never went away. It's installed correctly - there must be an issue with the design.

I just replaced this with a Peerless kitchen faucet for $22 less than this one - Model # 203782343 - has nice high arc and very fast to install. I had this model faucet for about 4 years. It started leaking at the base after three years and Delta customer support sent me a rebuild kit - so no complaints except for the hours to call/replace/other. Recently, I had the issue which so many others reported - the leaking side sprayer. I replaced the side sprayer with an after market one and it leaks too because the faucet doesn't regulate the pressure correctly. So, save yourself the mess and bother of fixing or replacing this faucet and buy a better one for the same cost or less.

Paid a plumber to install and soon after words the faucet developed a distinct banging noise ( I'm thinking "Water Hammer") every time you turn the water on. Really annoying. It is unknown if what ever is causing this loud banging noise will reduce the service life of this faucet. I did notice that the copper tubes going into the bottom of the faucet were tiny compared to the one that came out. I really hope cost cutting on the part of the manufacturer is not responsible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lousy diverter. You can get better for cheaper As other reviewers have pointed out, this faucet has a cheaply constructed spray diverter which cannot handle the source water pressure. The faucet emits a very loud thudding sound when turning on either hot or cold water and when depressing the sprayer button. This sound was so loud I was concerned it would bother my neighbors. The entire faucet would violently jerk when doing this, despite being secured tightly with the provided (cheap plastic) fasteners. I did everything I could to ensure it wasn't an air bubble or debris caught in a line. Reconnected the lines multiple times, flushed the faucet with the aerator removed, adjusted the water pressure. I even took apart the faucet and removed the diverter (mostly lightweight plastic), examined it for defects or debris, and replaced it. Nothing helped. Returned it and got a Moen Brandbury instead. I know Delta mostly makes budget-friendly faucets but this is completely unacceptable.

I've had this faucet installed just under a year and the fitting that holds the sprayer in place broke. Now the sprayer sits there at an awkward angle and the hose is grabbing the sink when pulled so it is starting to fray. Prior to this the faucet was fine and worked well, but to fail after less than a year of use in cruddy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta Kitchen faucet. I have read some of the reviews about this set "thumping" when it's turned on. All I can say is that my wife bought a good one. There is no sign of thumping after the installation except for in the sprayer. I was a little leery about this sprayer to begin with because it's made of plastic. It doesn't matter because she never uses the sprayer anyway. It just fills the forth hole in the sink as far as I'm concerned. The installation went in easy in fact a lot easier than the leaking Moen that this faucet replaced. We paid good money for that Moen faucet about ten years ago and the guts finally rusted away and started leaking. It went into the garbage. The only good thing that I can say about the Moen that it came with a weight to keep the water line to the sprayer from kinking up which the Delta does not provide. That's a short coming for their system and I used the weight from the previous set up. The Delta engineers need to wake up to the fact that water line needs a weight on it if someone intends on using it efficiently.

Well made; except for different connections from what I had to the faucet itself, easy to install. Gasket to sink could be higher quality - make sure to caulk around the base after install.
