Just wandering if I missed something during installation. The Hub does seem a little stiff. When I tighten the cap, it does stop the lead for a while. But it happens again. The Faucet In question is a 16953-DST.

Answer:
You do not have to use the mounting plate. I mounted mine without it. This is a single hole faucet so it depends on what you want it to look like.

Hello Usaf294, Thank you for your question. The 16953-DST can be installed as a single hole with the single hole escutcheon that is included. You do not have to use the 3 hole escutcheon.

Is the hose metal or vinyl? It looks like a plastic hose in the photo.

I have this kitchen faucet for only 2 years and I already have a problem turning off the water. When I moved into my house 12 years ago, the homebuilder installed Delta fittings for all the plumbing faucets. It lasted for 10 years on my kitchen faucet and when I went to Home Depot to buy a replacement, I was so confident with Delta and bought without hesitating. After the plumber installed it, I found out the pull out spray is a piece of cheap plastic. Delta has disappoint me and after 2 years, it is already broken!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Decision I am very happy with this Delta faucet. The length of the pull out is significantly longer than the faucet I replaced it with, and it glides easily when pulled out and replaced. I installed it myself (female), and the process was simple with good directions. I compared prices in the area, and Home Depot was reasonably priced and included free shipping.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faucet was faulty Needed a kitchen faucet to replace a leaky one at our home. Bought this one because it was reasonably priced and was a good name brand. Spent an hour installing it only to find that it leaked. Had to go back and buy a new model the same night and was under my sink until nearly midnight replacing this faulty faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best kitchen faucet ever! I love this faucet. it is a little higher than my old faucet but that helps reduce splashing if sprayer is left on. I love that it keeps the last setting so I can leave sprayer on to save water when washing or rinsing dishes. The finish is bright and shiny after months of use. I am very pleased.

When my Moen faucet developed a leak after just 2 years, I bought this Delta model. I've had it about a month, and I like the longer hose and ease of use. But it's difficult to find the "middle range" for the hot water. No matter how carefully I adjust it, the water is either super hot or tepid.

Now it is pretty much frozen in one position and won't swivel. Probably less trouble to install a new one than to attempt a repair that may or may not last. Will go with a different brand next time

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get the Linden instead Most of the installation was easy except for threading the pull out spout tube through the handle. Got it all connected, turned it on, and the hot water just dribbled out of the faucet. Cold water pressure was fine. Also the spout is short. I had to lean over the sink in order to put an item under the running water. Called Delta and they recommended a different way to flush the unit which involved disconnecting lines and getting water all over the place. Did not fix the problem. Replaced with the Linden model. Installed in less than an hour, working fine so far, and spout is longer so much more comfortable to use. Will be returning the Grant.
