How do I remove the aerator from the spray nozzle???

It seems to be clogged with mineral deposits. Looks like it requires a special tool. Can only see little notches around the outside of the circled aerator. Please help. Thanks!!
Asked by: cjm777
Use a pair of pliers, placing layered cloth or something else between the pliers and the aerator to prevent scratches, turning the pliers to your left as you face the faucet. Don't squeeze the pliers too tightly; it doesn't take much effort. I always hand tighten mine so that I don't need a tool to loosen them.

Sprayer Hose connection

I have a 5-10 year old faucet and need to take off the sprayer hose. The hose connection will not disengage and I do not want to damage it just in case the new faucet is not the correct size and I need to put it back on..

I think you need to replace the entire unit.

Asked by: Bebe
Hopefully someone from Home Depot or Delta will answer. I gave up on mine and replaced it. Worst kitchen faucet I've had in 40 years. Barely lasted a year.

Does the sprayer stay on without holding the switch?

Asked by: Rosebud
Yes! I would not have bought it otherwise. It also holds the last sprayer setting (on or off).

After installing the faucet seems to be too low, Is there a piece to extend the height or compatible pull out sprayer?

Asked by: Naperthrill
Sorry but no there is not. I was not happy with the height of the faucet either.

Do you have to get the handle dead center for the water to shut off? or can it be a little off to one side?

Asked by: Tistheseason
Hi Tistheseason, Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 16953-DST may or may not need to be dead center to be shut off. It depends on where the cartridge ends up sitting in the hub. It will be pretty close to the center though. Thanks. Jody

Our handyman said that it is made of plastic. Not a high quality faucet. It was a waste of money, and we will replace it. We are out the $$ for this item and for installation, so we are unhappy. We purchased it at home depot. We have had it for a few months and have had to have the installer back to tighten it. He said plastic faucets get loose quickly. But how could I have known this has major plastic components? It is very frustrating. I expected a high quality product. Our handyman recommends Grohe.

I have this kitchen faucet for only 2 years and I already have a problem turning off the water. When I moved into my house 12 years ago, the homebuilder installed Delta fittings for all the plumbing faucets. It lasted for 10 years on my kitchen faucet and when I went to Home Depot to buy a replacement, I was so confident with Delta and bought without hesitating. After the plumber installed it, I found out the pull out spray is a piece of cheap plastic. Delta has disappoint me and after 2 years, it is already broken!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faucet was faulty Needed a kitchen faucet to replace a leaky one at our home. Bought this one because it was reasonably priced and was a good name brand. Spent an hour installing it only to find that it leaked. Had to go back and buy a new model the same night and was under my sink until nearly midnight replacing this faulty faucet.

Installation was easy and I like the way the sprayer hose plugs together without the need to tighten nuts. Best thing also was that you have the option of a seamless water supply hose from faucet to shutoff valves...less connections to leak. Overall very pleased and installation took less time than I thought it would.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Decision I am very happy with this Delta faucet. The length of the pull out is significantly longer than the faucet I replaced it with, and it glides easily when pulled out and replaced. I installed it myself (female), and the process was simple with good directions. I compared prices in the area, and Home Depot was reasonably priced and included free shipping.
