How is the Delta Greenwich 18 in. towel bar mounted?

It says something about an easy clip wall mount eliminating the need for set screws. It almost sounds like it is mounted via some sort of stickers but those can't hold well in a bathroom frequently made moist by my taking showers. So how exactly would one mount a set of these towel racks?

You're right about moisture preventing the brackets from adhering, and suddenly one or both sides letting go when you go to put a towel on the rod. The brackets should come with some sticky glue covered with peel-off tapes (which would also help the user know which side goes against the wall). An "UP" arrow somewhere would also help. And a tiny screwdriver, because not everyone has one. More sticky tape Read More

The brackets should come with some sticky glue covered with peel-off tapes (which would also help the user know which side goes against the wall). An "UP" arrow somewhere would also help. And a tiny screwdriver, because not everyone has one. More sticky tape on the back of the mounting ends would help hold them in place on the brackets at the same time before tightening both set screws. Otherwise you have to tighten just one and then put in the other end one and there's no more wiggle room in case there needs to be some adjustment to be sure the rod is level. I had to go back and loosen the set screw a little to turn the right side clockwise a bit, then go back and loosen and tighten the other end. But it got done and looks good. P.S. I recently saw an ad for a bathtub grab bar that installs with suction. Gosh, I'd never trust something like that. Read Less

Answer:
The mounting clips are put onto the wall with screws and then the towel bar slides into the clips. Quite easy to do. You can easily un-clip them if you want to paint the wall.

Answer:
Thanks for your question. To install this towel bar you do not have to screw the outside brackets into the wall. There is a clip that screws to the wall and the brackets slip on to mount.

Greenwich 18 in. Towel Bar in Polished Chrome is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor brackets Cheap feeling chrome with terrible mounting brackets that don't mount the rack flush. Taking the rack off or on while adjusting fitment scratched the wall and you'll need to touch up. Mounting brackets have NO slider holes for adjusting, so if your drilled holes are off bit you're screwed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from towel bar bad size The length of this product and brackets don't match the distance between two studs (16"). I don't understand why they designed it that way. So you need to cut the bar itself by about an inch to be able to install it on the wall.
