Customer Questions & Answers

Are the temperature control valve and faceplate made of plastic?

Asked by: Helmut
No. Temperature control valve handle, volume control handle, and small round temperature setting cover are made of heavy cast metal. Large backplate is made of stamped chromed sheet metal. There are no plastic parts in the chrome trim items.

How can I determine the difference between the R10000UNBX and the R10000UNBXHF?

Asked by: Greg
HI Greg, Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # T17T038-SS can be used with either rough-in model. But you can only use model R10000-UNBXHF if you are installing a shower only set-up. This rough-in cannot be used with a tub spout. Model R10000-UNBX can be used with a tub or a tub/shower combination. Thanks. Jody

This model Lahara TempAssure control valve does NOT, I repeat does NOT come with a shower head. The installation guide that comes with it shows how to install the shower head; The replacement parts list has the shower head and spout listed, but there is no shower head included when you purchase one of the most expensive shower faucets that Home Depot has to offer. The website information on this faucet does not say anywhere that the shower head is not included and is very misleading. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water Hammering? I purchased a combo of MultiChoice Universal Tub and Shower Valve Body Rough-In Kit (R10000-UNBXHF) and the Lahara TempAssure 17T Series 1-Handle Volume and Temperature Control Valve Trim Kit (T17T038). They were installed last week for my bathroom renovation. The first time I used the shower on 5/09/15, all was well. Next day, the water hammering scared the heck out of me. I’ve heard about it in the past but never really experienced it. Hammering started when I turned the temp control up (hotter). When I turned the temp down, it disappeared. I’m also using a brand new rain shower head. At 12 o’clock turn of the volume control, the water flow from the rain shower is already intense (at least compared to the old shower which I had for 18 years) and so I only turn the volume control at about 4 o’clock position. It is turning the temp control when hammering occurs. I called Delta on 5/11 and explained. They think there may be debris in the pipe/valve. Delta recommended I flush the line/valve. I haven’t done it as I’d rather have the installer do it. The hammering i heard over the weekend was intense, loud and continuous. Today, 5/13/15, i videotaped the process of opening the faucet and adjusting the temp control with the goal to produce the hammering. It occurred, but not as loud and intense. There is that position at 11 o'clock when it started, then i turned it to the right just a tiny bit, it stopped, i turned it again to the left by a tiny bit, it occurred. By making this tiny movements, the noise appears but only when the temp control is going to the left (hotter). After my experiment, an hour later, i heard the shower head dripping for a few seconds, then stopped. What's going on? I’m the first owner of my house and been living here for 18 years and never heard of this noise in the shower before.
