How much space do I need

How much space do I need behind the faucet to fit. Right now my existing faucet almost touches backslash. Does the on/off hot/cold handle move forward and backwards so it would need space.

Also how do you make the handle turn from hot to cold, pulling forward and backwards? A better description would be nice

Answer:
Hi Rain,
Thank you for your question! This faucet requires a minimum 2 1/2" clearance from the backsplash to the center of the installation hole. Please see the Specification sheet for this and other measurements.
The handle moves in a triangular pattern, with full volume being tilted away from the faucet. Tilt the handle back for hot water or forward for cold.
Best regards,
Jon

Hot is achieved by pushing handle away or cold by pulling toward yourself when handle is mounted on right side. Volume is adjusted by moving lever downward towards the right.

My original sink facet is a single handle version with a sprayer in the other hole. I don't think there is enough room between the holes with a deck plate. OR can I just add the delta without a deck plate and put a cover on the other hole?

Yes. The handle only has a small amount of movement each way toward cold or hot. The main goose neck of the faucet will swivel 360 degrees.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 312 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by another great Delta product I ordered this faucet online because our local Home Depot doesn't stock many selections in the chrome finish. The trend now is for the stainless finish. Those are beautiful but won't match the other fixtures in our older kitchen. The Leland is fantastic. The magnatite docking keeps the faucet head from drooping or not reseating itself. The spray function is good. Waterflow amount and pressure are good. Installation was simple. I have installed a couple dozen faucets of all kinds and this was very easy. The hardest part is cleaning out under the sink and trying to get in a comfortable position to do the work. The new faucet replaced a Delta pull out that was 10+ years old. My wife loves it! Shipping and in-store pickup was smooth and flawless. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality and Good Looks We selected this Delta faucet after an exhaustive search. Our decorator (my wife) is hard to please. This faucet was more expensive than we intended to spend, but the look and Delta quality sold us. We bought the chrome. The instructions were fairly clear. We have a three hole sink. The included escutcheon looks good and installed easily. The installation was made even easier as the Pex water supply lines (marked for hot and cold) are already connected to the faucet. The hardest thing about the install was lying on my back under the garbage disposal cinching up the faucet to the sink. The faucet works great. The pull down sprayer pulls and retracts smoothly, and docks solidly. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific I read every Q & A and review before considering my purchase. I read how people thought the handle was difficult to shut off, how the flow was weak, and all sorts of issues. And issues regarding installation. Let me say, I am not a plumber. I work in technology on wall street and I installed this faucet all by myself in under an hour. Yes, there were difficult moments, but no fault of the faucet, you will be working under and behind a sink. It is what it is, no matter what faucet you decide to install. This faucet is elegant. It changed the entire look of my sink area. It is incredibly useful. Almost immediately my wife and I wondered how we could have possibly survived without that push-button from spay to jet and the detachable head. And finally the height is fantastic. I can fit my 64 oz growlers under the faucet without tilting them to clean them for the next beer full-up (and now you know the real reason for buying this faucet!) If you like the way this faucet looks get it. You wont be disappointed. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by single hand faucet Had this for 2 weeks so far ok. like the magnet good feature .Kind of early for review would look to people who have had it longer. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Faucet review Faucet arrived in good time--plumber claimed it was of average quality. Looks good. john July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice faucet Performed exactly as indicated. Easy to install. Has very good flow rate, and the pull-down functions very well July 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love Delta This has a magnetic piece in the docking, so the sprayer always goes back to the base and does not hang there if you don't do it right. I am not too crazy about the looks, but it does exactly what I wanted. I got a new water heater at the same time, so I am working to get the water temperature adjustment correct. June 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No bad surprises If you're willing to spend this kind of money on a faucet, you expect it to be exactly what you're looking for, and this fits the bill (at least for me). 1. Looks as pictured on the website 2. Operates smoothly in every facet; handle turns easily and provides precise control over water temperature and flow rate; pull out sprayer is not cumbersome; easy to pull out and maneuver when you need it, locks in snugly when you put it back My previous faucet also had a spray setting, but its power is seriously lacking compared to this one. I frequently need to use a non-maximum flow rate when washing dishes or the water will splash onto me. Good purchase. April 5, 2016
