Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GGRussell Another great Delta product
The American Standard Ovation kit basin is very sturdy with wood and fiberglass support on the bottom. However, the sides were a bit flimsy and thin, but once installed the sides were well supported by the wall studs so not a big issue.
We also installed Delta Linden Monitor 17 valve (T17094) and the Delta Diverter (T11894) for the handheld shower. The Handheld Shower Elbow (50560) has a nice aesthetic and goes well with the Delta parts.
We reused existing shower head and handheld shower. In all, this new walk-in shower is a great addition and really helps my 90 yr old mother at bath time.

I had a previous Delta Monitor 17 series shower which had the temperature handle break due to a cheap plastic inner component. This model was not exactly like my old one, but was compatible. I was looking forward to having a metal temperature handle but was disappointed to discover upon delivery that while the volume control is metal, the temperature control is plastic, painted to look like metal. It has not broken so far, but I have only had it for about 1 month so time will tell. I also did not need a new cartridge, but this one came with one. Being able to purchase a handle without a cartridge would have really helped reduce the cost. I kept my old cartridge and will keep the one that came with this one as a spare. Keeping the old cartridge in place helped the installation of this to go even faster and I had no issues with installation.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mfinn1964 Nice product, Needed clearer info for non-professionals
As a DIYer and a novice plumber, I give this product 4 stars because it looks and feels like a high-end device, it's easy to install with the roughed-in valve, but when starting from scratch from just the water supply, and not being familiar with the professional plumber's lingo, it was very confusing as to what components I needed from start to end.
My project was a complete replacement of plumbing for my tub/shower combo. I also added an in-line hand-held shower wand.
For the basic shower faucet you will need these three things: Delta's universal rough-in valve (faucet housing), Cartridge (faucet guts -Most Delta products include this with the trim kit), and the trim kit (Usually includes the decorative cover ring (escutcheon), the cartridge, and the handle/knob).
So, for others who follow....Terminology:
Rough-in valve -the "housing" (container) that the faucet cartridge inserts into and the faucet trim connects to. Water supply connects to this. (Must have! -If the kit says "Valve not included" -this is what it's talking about.) -I strongly recommend buying the universal rough-in valve that has the stop-valves so you can test/shut off the water without shutting off the whole house. -An added plus to this is, if you ever need to change out components years from now, it would take about 15 mins to do so. :)
Stop-Valves: Two tiny easy-access valves (pinkie finger sized) mounted on the sides of the rough-in valve that turn the hot/cold water flow off and on with a straight screwdriver. (Shot off gently or you'll muck up the o-rings!). (Excellent when you want to test your system for leaks before closing the wall.)
Cartridge: The "guts" of your faucet -usually a grey or white plastic cylinder that allows hot/cold water mixing
Control valve trim kit (Delta) -Contains the handles, decorative pieces, and the cartridge. (I found it very difficult tell what exact pieces were included from the specs. I guess they just assume you know?)
Other things I added for my project: I wanted a tub spout that could divert water flow upward, and I wanted a wall mounted handheld shower so, when I chose the universal rough-in valve, I selected one with 2 inlets (hot/cold) and two outlets (one for the tub spout, one for the shower head. Between the shower faucet and shower head, I added a 3-way valve that could divert water to just the hand held shower, or to both the shower head/hand held shower. I used pex plumbing and Sharkbite fittings to rough everything in (took maybe two hours from beginning to shower-ready?) and am very happy with the results. :)
Other than the initial confusion about the terminology, my only other small disappointment with this product is that the shower head/tub spout water pressure is a bit less now. -Still doable, but just so-so...
I hope this helps anyone reading this!!!

I am so pleased with this purchase. I can preset my preferred temperature and the water flow is easy on and off. The contemporary design of this product fits well with my bathroom decor. My plumber installed this so can't rate the ease of installation.
