Hello Stephen,
Yes this would be in place of a shower curtain.
If your opening is with in the min/max size that is mentioned in the product description then it should work great for you.

What is the difference between the Crestfield, Panache ad Mandara styles? All of the pictures look the same. The one that I am interested in is the one with the top bar that is curved

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Away Bought these doors for our bathroom remodel. The last thing the contractor had left to do before leaving was install the bathroom doors. Opened the package and the trim was all damaged. Contacted Home Depot and are sending us out a new trim kit. Now we have to wait 2 weeks to receive delivery. Now we have to go out and buy a curtain rod and shower curtain July 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple instructions, easy to install, very pleased with result. I assisted with the installation of sliding shower doors about fifteen years ago. So I was concerned about installing these my self. However it couldn't have been easier. I had my daughter help in leveling the side rails but did everything else myself. Instructions said to measure twice cut once. I measured at least three times before cutting. And I used a 7 1/4 sliding miter saw to cut the top and bottom rails. I think it did a much better job than a hacksaw and miter box. Everything went together perfectly. Everyone agrees the sliding doors completes the look of the bathroom. December 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks Great Doors are heavy and it is not a project for beginners, but it went up as shown in the instructions. Check top channel for level could cause the doors to slide to one side. Looks great. July 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sliding Tub glass doors It's not a High quality product, but for the money, it's OK. I'm not unhappy with the product, but I did have one problem. The gasket for the track was not in the box, and had to abort the installation half way through. I called Home Depot, and they were not able to help me, and said I needed to call the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer, and they shipped me a new gasket, but it took almost two weeks to receive it. So a small project turned out to be more trouble than it should have. The doors are a little sloppy when opening and closing, and you really need to be careful especially when closing them, as they don't have much of a buffer catching them at the frame. Obviously you need to be gentle with any sliding glass door, but I think with these, you need to be even more careful. April 26, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice doors Nice doors for the price and look great, but the track system is not very good and not built very well. Slides ok,but not like most of the shower doors I have used. Overall just have to be easy with them when opening. January 13, 2015
