The MultiChoice Universal Jetted Shower Rough-in Kit is one rough-in with unlimited possibilities. Delta's separate rough and trim program allows you to switch your trim without the hassle of changing your rough-in as well. Another great benefit is the ability to have your plumber installs the rough-in before you've decided on the trim you want. By installsing the rough-in first, you can later decide what type of trim will go perfectly in your bath.

Just did exact thing at job. However, unless you run second outlet to wall adapter just for handheld hose ( in wall), if walls don't have hardiboard on yet.
My solution came easier by purchasing Deltas 5 in 1 shower head, $288. This showerhead has diverter on handle that allows you to use handheld and shwrhd same time or separate or all as one . handheld is part of showerhead so really does everything

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model R10000-UNBX is a rough-in valve that is used to regulate your water temperature and depending on the trim you choose, it can regulate your volume. If you would like to add a handheld shower to your stationary shower, we recommend adding an in-wall rough-in valve like model R11000 with a matching 2-port 3-function diverter trim.
Thanks.

Answer:
Hi Brett,
The diverter portion of this valve is not threaded. The connections must be either soldered or use a quick connect style fitting.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well , liked new body jets Again, soldering needed for jetted rough in but all in all easy install most importantly...no leaks! Quality product and the pressure balancing adjustment on the main rough in valve was a nice plus for very small price difference. For a remodeler, the pressure balancing can be important w old houses w either bad water pressure or just old water heaters w bursts of hot n lukewarm... Anyway, this job went well partly because of the cool travertine shower and the multiple body sprayers December 17, 2014
