The majority of the assemblies, including the solenoid valve, are made of cheap plastic. Everything is working fine now, but I wouldn't be surprised if the plastic winds up cracking. Also, not giving the option to plug the solenoid valve into an outlet, instead of being force to use batteries, was a big mistake. Other than these complaints, I love the faucet and it's functionality.
If your not very mechanically inclined, you might want to hire a plumber to install it. There are a few steps and it's not the type of project that you can jump blindedly into. It's is best to follow the manual's instructions exactly as they're written.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by nelslynn Works great at first, now has a mind of it's own
We've had this for about 4 years. It worked great for 3 years, now it has a mind of it's own. It auto turns on at random times when no one even remotely near the sink. We've fiddled with wires, replaced with new batteries, tried everything and nothing seems to fix it. We've called Delta, and tried what they suggested, and no go, this thing now just has a mind of it's own. So frustrating, and even more frustrating is we can't just turn it into a normal faucet that you turn on and off via the lever. When we do this, you have to turn it off with the lever, THEN tap it to turn off the sensor. Too bad as we'd love to buy another one for our rental property.

Worked great for abut 4 years. Then started malfunctioning by turning on by itself at all hours. Called Delta and customer service was great in trying to solve problem. They send a replacement part, but the instructions to fix were so complicated it would take a rocket scientist to figure out. We had to pay a plumber to replace part(expensive). Now the faucet is leaking at the sink seam and there is no water coming out of faucet. Tired of messing with it. I would not recommend it unless you want to replace it in 3-4 years. For such an expensive faucet, it should last more than 4 years. Truly disappointed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ArmyVet Convert Touch20 Faucet to manual when it stop working
I have had this Delta Pilar Touch20 for 4 years. The last 6 months it would stop working but start again by playing with it. The solenoid died today so I went to page 13 in the installation guide online and converted my Touch20 faucet to manual. I saved $300 - $450 by converting existing Touch20 to manual. It was easy - only 4 simple steps clearly depicted in the online guide page 13. And I am not a plumber. It was good while it lasted. When it dies DO NOT spend $278 on a replacement solenoid plus labor cost or buy a new faucet. My "manual " Touch20 works like a charm now. Happy Wife Happy Life

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill The touch feature on this faucet is so cool!
My wife and I did a lot of research on faucets before we decided on the Pilar. We are so happy with our decision, the convenience of being able to just tap the spout and have it turn on or off is amazing. I don't know how we managed without it. The other great feature that I love is that it turns off automatically after 4 minutes! No more accidental over flows.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sld3313 Classy Sleek Stainless Touch Faucet - Wish I had it sooner
Bought this faucet as part of updating my kitchen to granite countertops, new sink and new backsplash. I read many, many reviews about touch faucets before deciding on this brand and model. I love this faucet and wish I had it a long time ago. One thing I particularly like about this faucet is the separate handle. Many reviewers complained about the handles being so close to the granite backsplash that your knuckles hit the granite. This handle is longer and sticks up over the granite. I don't have any issues hitting the backsplash. Another reviewer complaint was the water force was so hard it splashed up. I haven't had that problem. The pull out spout sprays the sink and easily pushes back into the spout. I like the dual spray/single stream option on the head. The pressure is strong, but not too much to splash. The backsplash & back edge of the sink stays cleaner because you don't have dripping hands turning water on & off. You just touch the faucet. The profile is very sleek. The newer faucets with the handle on the stem appear deformed to me. Those faucet handles would hit the backsplash. I paid $375 for the faucet and it's worth every penny. I had a professional install the faucet, so I can't comment on the installation. I'd recomment this faucet.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RCNet Cool upgrade to the Kitchen
I've been using the new faucet for a few weeks, and I'm really happy I decided to purchase it. It was very simple to install, with clear instructions. The flexibility of the pull-down handle is great, and the Touch2O capability works much better than I anticipated. The build quality appears to be solid and the finish is nice. The only thing I wish they did better would be a way to deal with the battery pack. It would be nice if there was a bracket or something included that would keep it up off the floor of the cabinet.

I love this faucet! We purchased it right when it came out a few years ago for our kitchen remodel, and we haven't looked back. It is so easy to use, and the touch technology is great. I highly recommend this faucet.
